To have a wry smile as "karma" bites DH on the arse?

DH has been in a foul mood since he got out of bed. He has sneezed once a cold. The house is cold as the boiler has broken, so he's been huffing and puffing since 7.30.

This morning he used up the last of the loo roll in the bathroom and (not unreasonably) wanted to get dressed before he replaced it. DDog started fussing at him, she got told to bog off. In the meantime DS goes to the loo. DH rants and raves at him about not looking before he used the loo.

Turns out DDog is fussing as she needs to go into the garden. While he's ranting at DS, she's had an accident in the kitchen. Which he now needs to clear up. If he hadn't spent 5 minutes whinging at DS about loo roll he'd have got DDog out in time.

I doubt he'll see the link, but it has made me smile. I'm planning on taking DS and DDog out for the day, I think we all need some space.

Did he have to go to the store to buy more toilet paper? Could you have not let the dog out?

PinkiePiesCupcakes Mon 24-Oct-16 09:16:54

So where were you in all this?
Why didn't you let the dog out?
Why didn't you get loo roll?
Why don't you clean ypour dogs mess whilst he goes for loo roll?

BreakfastAtSquiffanys Mon 24-Oct-16 09:18:00

Not immediately replacing loo roll is a divorcable offence in our house

NavyandWhite Mon 24-Oct-16 09:19:51

Why didn't you let the dog out? confused

QueenofLouisiana Mon 24-Oct-16 09:20:24

What was I doing? Putting one lot of washing out, putting another one in the washing machine (not in the kitchen), putting stuff in the loft and trying to re-set the boiler (again).

Somehow I can't do that and sort out dog/ loo roll at the same time.

Costacoffeeplease Mon 24-Oct-16 09:23:58

Poor dog being told to bog off when she's asking out, as I presume she's been taught

Your husband sounds like a complete twat

MaryBerrysSoggyBottBott Mon 24-Oct-16 09:26:18

Isn't Karma when something bad or good that you have put out to universe comes back on you. What did he do to deserve this Karma OP?
I might have given a helping hand in this instance, maybe got loo roll, cleaned up after dog, let dog out. I'd have done either one, especially as he's feeling rough today.

witsender Mon 24-Oct-16 09:29:31

Why didn't you let the dog out? It takes minus 2 seconds to open a door.

PinkiePiesCupcakes Mon 24-Oct-16 09:29:47

Putting one lot of washing out? So in the garden? Where the dog wanted to go?

You sound a bit mean, do you even like your OH or is he just there to be ridiculed to make you feel better about yourself?

MaryBerrysSoggyBottBott Mon 24-Oct-16 09:30:09

Ps in our house first one up lets dog out, it's the first thing we do even before kettle goes on, and it's usually DS 9 who does this as he's first one up.

Bitofacow Mon 24-Oct-16 09:32:45

Yes and while the broom was up your are you could mop the floor.

You are just not working hard enough, you are the weak link.

Your post made me snigger smile

Bitofacow Mon 24-Oct-16 09:33:21

Are = arse

BusterGonad Mon 24-Oct-16 09:34:39

OP I bet you wish you never said anything now! Lol

DoinItFine Mon 24-Oct-16 09:38:07

Your poor husband.

He has a wife and he still has to open doors and replace toilet paper.

What is the point of you????!!!!!!!

LadyConstanceDeCoverlet Mon 24-Oct-16 09:40:03

Gawd, it's pick pick pick on here, isn't it. Maybe OP couldn't let the dog out because she didn't see it because she was in the loft, dealing with the washing machine which isn't in the kitchen, or was already out in the garden putting the washing out? It's hardly the point, is it? OP, YANBU.

witsender Mon 24-Oct-16 09:40:58

Oh come on. No-one is saying he shouldn't have to do anything. But she.clearly noticed the dog whining and was up and about, so why not let the.poor creature out? It isn't about.saving him a job, but logic and common sense.

WhatsGoingOnEh Mon 24-Oct-16 09:44:40

Who puts stuff in the loft at 8.30am?!

OP, I get your point -- the time he spent shouting at your son :-( would have been better spent sorting the dog out and grabbing a handful of paper towels in lieu of bog roll.

But I'm still amazed you're in the loft at dawn.

2kids2dogsnosense Mon 24-Oct-16 09:53:08

Agree with bitofacow

That poor man - ill to the point of death (sounds like man flu to me) and all his wife does is loll about enjoying herself doing 23 loads of washing, clambering about in lofts and re-setting boilers. All the joy-giving treats that most men can only dream about!

I bet you're looking forward to cleaning the oven next, Queen, instead of getting on with things that need to be done, like massaging egos, patting the hand of your long-suffering spouse and murmuring "there. there" and cleaning up pools of dog pee.

You should be ashamed!

2kids2dogsnosense Mon 24-Oct-16 09:54:23

But I'm still amazed you're in the loft at dawn.

Possibly sorting out the boiler . . . . ?

NavyandWhite Mon 24-Oct-16 09:55:49

Sod all to do with the husband. The dog needed a wee!

Bitofacow Mon 24-Oct-16 09:57:08

We should start a thread about unsupportive women who need to do more to help their husbands.

OP could be Queenofwomenwhishoulddomoretohelptheirhusbands

YvaineStormhold Mon 24-Oct-16 09:58:20

Oh dear, OP.
You mentioned a dog.
You're fucked.
Your only hope is to point out you got it from a rescue. You might get let off with a maiming in that case.

I think the OP should have sprinted from the washing machine past her DH to let the dog out, grabbed loo rolls on the way and lobbed them to her DS on her way to the loft.

Or alternatively her DH who was only occupied with the task of ranting at a child over loo roll could have let the dog out.

Thornrose Mon 24-Oct-16 10:07:14

I can totally see how this played out and it made me smile. "Ranting and raving" at ds does not suggest the poor child is being shouted at and requires sympathy!

Every sentence of the OP has been over analysed. Killjoys! grin
