AIBU?

I never thought I'd turn into the sort of person who liked a certain mug or wine glass .....

... I used to mock my mother for requesting a certain tea cup. But I've found myself noticing if DH makes me a coffee and its in the 'wrong' mug Blush, and I've just gone back into the kitchen to tip my wine into another glass.

I'm officially old and I've turned into my mother.

Totally normal behaviour, I'd say Grin

I've got a variety of mugs in work. One for Hallowe'en, Christmas, Easter and one for other times. I am really put out if a visiting member of staff uses my mugs.

Totally normal.

I have been known to hunt people down for the crime of using my mug.

Still very bitter that my Buffy the vampire hunter mug vanished 5 years ago.

Don't get me started on taking my stapler.

Meh! this is normal, although if it comes to a Walking Dead scenario I will become considerably less particular Grin

Why wouldn't you want a cup of tea in a fine bone china mug or cup, and a glass of wine in a thin glass? Chunky tableware

Fuck, when did I get so middle aged?! Used to be K cider from a bottle.

I thought everyone had 'their' mug?
Mine is a small line from disaster designs with skulls and stuff on it. Love it.

hahahaha totally with you! DH tries to make me a cuppa in a big chunky builders mug and I send him back to the kitchen...he knows its a dainty bone china one or nothing!

I still mourn the loss of my Smarties mug. Should never have taken it to work Angry

We used to fight (in a friendly way) over a particular mug in our student house. Because the tea tasted best in that one. If we were already like that at 20 there's no hope for us 20 years later is there?

I don't have a particular cup I prefer to drink from, it's more like a type. I hate mugs, and any cup with a thick rim. Yuck. I ONLY drink out of fine rimmed cups. Yes, it's ridiculous. And no, I will never compromise.

I heated a bowl of soup in a shite chunky bowl from a supermarket earlier. Burnt my hand on the bowl. Soup was lukewarm. It's going in the bin.

Yes, yes, yes! Tea cannot be drunk from anything but bone china and wine from crystals don't aee the problem, I am 50 and been like this since 35.

As long as it's the appropiate shaped glass for the drink I'm happy, can't abide the "wrong" type of glass.

My late DDad used to like his tea in a china beaker, not a chunky mug. He only ever had one at a time and used to buy them cheap from the china stall on our local market. Makes me a bit teary to think about it now. I miss my Dad.

I like tall thin delicate mugs for coffee, and more bulbous wide-rimmed mugs for tea. I can't justify it in any way.

Vertical - re toilets - I find when I go back to the same pub/restaurant/shop I always pick the same cubicle as I've used before.

I was so thrilled when I found 'my' mug again on Ebay recently.(a 1970's Hornsea pottery mug id had as a teenager) I always had my tea in it and had mourned its loss ever since my flatmate broke it in about 1986!! (I never forgave him either)

I am so happy to have it back in my life again and drink my tea out of it every day .. (in fact i have even now found another and so have bought a 'spare)

Obsessive? Moi? Grin

For my morning coffee I love my sturdy Le crueset mug.

For my bedtime tea I love my glass mug or a white one with butterfly's and bees and grass on.

Rest of the day I'm not bothered.

I'm 31.

I collect Emma Bridgewater and have about thirty mugs. I only ever drink out of perhaps four or five. I also have some Christmas ones that I'm saving to use at Christmas. I have definitely turned into my mother.
