To tell you all that parsnip and halloumi is the greatest combination ever?

I don't especially enjoy parsnip, it's OK, but I have to be in the mood. However, I grated 1 parsnip, grated some halloumi, mixed it, stuck it in oven with butter dotted on top, 180 for 20 minutes.
You can thank me later.....

CockacidalManiac Thu 20-Oct-16 18:26:27

It's not chips and gravy though, is it?

PleaseGetOffTheTableDarling Thu 20-Oct-16 18:27:42

Ooh I like the sound of that! Thanks for the tip!

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:28:47

It's not, but parsnips look slightly like cocks, as per your username. You'd love them. Especially with halloumi.

FoxesOnSocks Thu 20-Oct-16 18:28:51

Hmmm. No. I particularly like parsnip, and I like halloumi even less

FoxesOnSocks Thu 20-Oct-16 18:29:36

I don't particularly like!!

Sovain Thu 20-Oct-16 18:29:40

I love both of those but wouldn't put them together.

On my list....

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:29:40

No problem PleaseGetOffTheTableDarling

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:30:47

But together, they may work for you..... If not, fine, I'll eat 'em

hesterton Thu 20-Oct-16 18:31:23

Oo I love parsnips. And halloumi.
Will try!

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:32:28

I know, not something I would usually put together so that is why I'm sharing...

nocoolnamesleft Thu 20-Oct-16 18:40:59

Hmm, sounds worth a try...

Parsnips taste utterly revolting.

However, the redeeming point of your post is that I will try this recipe with butternut squash instead.

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:54:38

Go on, go on, go on, etc

sonlypuppyfat Thu 20-Oct-16 18:55:07

Squeaky cheese no thanks

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:56:39

Not with halloumi they don't!
However, I didn't think of doing this with other veg and squash sounds like it might work. I give you permission to try and report back

angryangryyoungwoman Thu 20-Oct-16 18:59:11

To not like halloumi is to be wrong on a deep fundamental level. Try it again with parsnips.

MuffyTheUmpireSlayer Thu 20-Oct-16 19:01:57

This sounds delicious! Hubba hubba.

NicknameUsed Thu 20-Oct-16 21:31:22

"I give you permission to try and report back"

Will do grin

jellyfrizz Thu 20-Oct-16 22:07:03

Squeaks improve cheese, only reason I would eat cottage cheese is the squeakiness.

IrenetheQuaint Thu 20-Oct-16 22:09:30

I do a tray of roast veg including parsnips, red onions, peppers, tomatoes, courgettes etc then add feta or halloumi at the last minute, with a dash of balsamic vinegar. Delicious!

FishSauce555 Thu 20-Oct-16 22:12:19

Grated halloumi you say... interesting. I've only ever grilled it! Or burnt it on a bbq.

ErrolTheDragon Thu 20-Oct-16 22:13:16

Is this the sort of culinary masterpiece which is born when all you've got is a parsnip and some halloumi? grin I can imagine it working though.

Or celariac?

starboyz Thu 20-Oct-16 22:14:29

I will try it

FunkinEll Thu 20-Oct-16 22:14:35

I have both of things in the fridge. I had no intention of using either but I'm going to trust you and try it for lunch tomorrow.
