AIBU to tell a little white lie to get the price of holiday down?

Been quoted almost £700 online for a post-Christmas break at a famous holiday park. It's already got some discounts taken off but it's more than £200 more than we paid for the same holiday last year (due to a mis-quote on their part!). I want to try and haggle the price down so WIBU to ring them and say I'd been quoted, say, £550 and would like to now go ahead (lie!)....WIBU or can anyone come up a tactic to bring the price down?

Yes YWBU and I agree that's not by any means a little white lie. You benefited from their mistake last year and saved money just be grateful for that. Besides unless you can prove your made up price I'd imagine they'll just tell you actually the price is £700. You've said you already had a discount if you want the holiday pay for it

You want to phone them with a quote you got LAST YEAR and say you got quoted that price now. You do realize that they will ask for the quote number and check it don't you.... It says 2015 instead of 2016 on the top....

I don't think it's a scam, or a massive lie, it's just trying to get the price down.. BUT the way you're doing it is wrong and it won't work.

Just tell them you paid £500 for the same trip last year, ask them if there's anything they can do on the price. If last years price was actually a mistake/misquote then tbh I don't think you're going to get very far!

Speak to another provider, tell them what you've been quoted so far. Ask them if they can beat it. If yes, ring the first provider and ask them if they can beat what the other place have quoted you.

Is this famous holiday park in the UK or abroad? If abroad remember that the low pound will make everything more expensive at no fault of whoever you are booking with.
