I work full time, have been for 18 months. previous to that I hadn't worked FT since before the kids were born (13 & 14).

I am increasingly exhausted, possibly due to a health issue currently being investigated, but I get next to no support at home. I do all the shopping cooking washing up, cleaning, laundry. DH will occasionally put a load on but generally its when he's run out of pants and makes me feel like a failure as a wife/mother for the fact.

Added to that I am the one the kids turn to for help with homework, combing hair for nits (has to be done at least weekly sadly), running them to clubs...

When I was a stay at home mum and even when I was part time, I didn't mind doing all the house stuff as I understand his job is hard physical work. But he really doesn't get how exhausting it is to try and think of meals to do that EVERYONE will eat and do the shopping for it. I'll ask him for his opinion on what to have and he'll say "whatever you want to to make" ARGH!!!!

Sorry for rant, needed to offload

what would happen if you just stop? they are old enough to fend for themselves and if you hate your situation YOU can change it. so why wouldn't you?

I am actually on the verge of saying I'm ill and camping out in bed for a week, just to see what would happen...

I have actually tried this and it works. I stopped doing everything and they all soon realised what I was doing. I don't do half as much because everybody helps now Grin

I've been very ill for a few days and DF are looking in wonderment at the dirty kitchen floor and bathroom. Grin
Your DH is being ridiculous. Hire a cleaner for starters, you shouldnt be running yourself into the ground and he shouldnt expect you to.
How is that love?
