AIBU?

One of DD's mates mum is pregnant. She was talking to me about baby names the other day. I have a newborn. Mentioned his name several times and went on about how it was chavvy and awful. Feel a bit pissy and like this was done to vindicate me. I chose his name because I liked it you daft mare! Her little DD is lovely and friends with ours but I feel like this is rude.

Of course it's rude! Did you pull her up on it?

Yanbu. It is very mean of her. Is she generally Ok and would you say this is atypical behaviour from her or is it a pattern?

It would take a rare breed to be that rude to your face intentionally.

I think she probably doesn't know your dc's name tbh...very silly of her though.

YANBU. That's awful. Is it possible she doesn't know your DS is called that?

It's my older DD so they are 9. I wouldn't think so Detailed as all the mums came over in first couple of weeks after he was born so she has seen and met him and were told names. Maybe it's because my older sons have slightly more traditional names? She knows older DS well because him and DD are twins so maybe she just prefers that type of name. Frantically racking my brain as to why she said it!

Oh dear. I bet she forgot that was your DS's name though. It's easily done. I was telling my BF how much I hated what one of DH's friends had called his DS, when I suddenly remembered it was her DS middle name - cringe. Drop his name into the conversation next time you see her to see if she looks really embarrassed. If not, she's unbelievably rude!
