AIBU?

...not to wait up for DH tonight?

I've been feeling ill last couple of days, though I've been in work today. Feeling bushed and just want to go to bed, but DH just called to say he'll be home from abroad in about an hour - and "you will stay up for me won't you?".

AIBU to just go to bed, & try to stay awake in front of Question Time [now that's a contradiction!]. I can't stay awake much after 10pm at the best of times! He's away every week M-F [but is home tonight due to a weekend away coming up]. Always home v late on the Friday and knows I have tried to stay up, but am usually asleep when he gets in, though he's welcome to wake me up when he does get in as I do like to 'catch up'.

I'm trying to stay awake by posting on MN, but am on my way up.

Not really a huge issue but just intrigued to know if everyone stays up for their partners when they come back really late?

Er, no. Not much fun waiting for drunk partner to roll in when you're knackered (and sober).

Oops, didn't read properly. Still not much fun to wait up when you're knackered. Let him come and talk to you in bed.

Did you read the post East ?

As my DP doesn't travel often I would. If he was away every week the I wouldn't?

I'll keep you company! Also waiting up for DH to get home from foreign shores. I've done copious amounts of tidying as I've tried to stay awake but I'm flagging now as the baby had me up at 3am and I haven't been able to get back to sleep. Have a read of the parking thread in chat if you haven't already. That'll keep you going!

I would, but I'm a weirdo and often meet him at the airport, station etc to surprise him.

But if I was feeling unwell, then I'd go to bed, and suggest that he can wake you with kisses when he gets back.

Cruchymum: he'she's away all the time!

I did stay up though, watching rubbish on tv & posting on MN!

Bit late now but I would have snoozed on the sofa and been ok about being woken up when he got in.

I used to set an alarm about 20mins before my DP was due home. Enough time to get up, brush teeth/hair and wake up a bit but I could still get a few hours kip before he arrived!
