No. What would be the reasoning behind it?

Why would anyone get 2 votes?

Lokisglowstickofdestiny · 05/10/2016 19:43

Why - so they have 2 votes they don't bother using?

No. Your opinion doesn't become less valuable because you are in your eighties or whatever.

Your post doesn't make sense

No. One vote per person is democracy, I can't see any other fair alternative.

However I would argue that seeing as a 16 year old can e.g. join the army, they should be granted the vote.

Also we could consider making voting compulsory (Australia does, I'm sure it's not the only country).

There are enough young people, especially if we included 16-17 year olds, that if they all did vote, they could have a say.

Why? Are they worth more?

I know it seems obvious to say no but give explanations as to why you think not- it is obvious to say no but harder to explain why

No need to be so rude- just wanted to have a debate but clearly I can't do so without being called ridiculous

No. Very strange idea. Why end at 24 why cant a 25 year old have two votes too. One person, one vote!!!!

If you gave us some reasonable explanations as to why it'd be a good idea, perhaps we could respond with more...

No because a vote from a 16-24 year old is not more valuable than a vote from someone older and should not be treated as such. I would throw your question back to you and ask why on earth you think this age group's opinion is twice as valid as anyone else's?

I saw this question on Digital Spy and thought it would be an interesting one to debate. I suppose it is good for increasing voter turnout among the young.

I'm not sure what the reasoning is for suggesting they get two votes, could you please explain or link to the article/wherever this is coming from?

Where has this come from? People are being rude as you've given no explanation for what seems to be a bizarre question! One vote per person is fair. Why should some people get more than one vote?

Because they will be alive longer?

Because not as many 18-24 year olds vote so it gives more weight to the ones who do? except they might not all think the same way

Erm ...

It's not my opinion- I just wanted to debate something and see people opinions.
