Dh just nicked one of my sarnies, after a bit of gagging he asked me wtf was in there and apparently aibu and a bit of a minger to put cheese in a egg mayo sarnie.

Moral of the story? Make your own fucking food grin

Is he right aibu? It was bloody lovely.

Egg mayo without cheese is an abomination.

JaceLancs Wed 05-Oct-16 17:10:19

LeatherAndLace Wed 05-Oct-16 17:10:29

Yabu.
I'm not even joking that sounds awful.

formerbabe Wed 05-Oct-16 17:12:28

That sounds vile.

Roora Wed 05-Oct-16 17:14:08

Honestly give it a go, it's proper lush. Has to be a nice strong cheddar.

Saggy I totally agree, cheese makes most things taste nicer.

SaggyNaggy Wed 05-Oct-16 17:17:04

Here's one that I always suggest but everyone goes "Eeeuuurrrgghhh" grin

Cheddar cheese and strawberry jam sarnies. Yummy.

Roora do you like olives? Chop a few and chuck them in too......your sandwich will be the best ever!
Egg and cheese is the best ever, but yes, has to be strong cheese

Roora Wed 05-Oct-16 17:20:17

I've used jam in place of chutney and it was actually really nice!

Only I do like olives, will give that a go next time. Sure dh will roll his eyes at that after our debate he said it should just be egg, mayo and salt grin

Allalonenow Wed 05-Oct-16 17:22:28

Egg mayo with gherkin or capers is lovely, but with cheese is just wrong.

ALemonyPea Wed 05-Oct-16 17:26:27

You can never go wrong adding cheese to food.

Tomato soup and a fuckton of sharp cheddar grated into it, food of the gods.

OnlyTheWelshCanCwtch Wed 05-Oct-16 17:28:41

I like egg mayo with Marmite as well

abigwideworld Wed 05-Oct-16 17:44:04

Egg mayo is a bit bland mind. I prefer egg with salad cream

Sparklesilverglitter Wed 05-Oct-16 17:47:59

I'm with your DH. Cheese with egg are you crazy? It's not for me.

PizzaPlease Wed 05-Oct-16 17:59:37

Cheese in egg mayo is not for me! But I must confess... When I'm making it myself I much prefer egg and salad cream!

blueturtle6 Wed 05-Oct-16 18:04:02

Oh that sounds delicious I'm home alone with baby and was going to get a take away, but that sounds much bettersmile

Kahuna Wed 05-Oct-16 18:29:28

Egg mayo with cheese, onion and tuna is fab.....especially on seeded brown or malt bread.
It was the "special" at the sarnie van where I used to work many moons ago.
I get it that in reality it was just the dreg ends of the egg mayo, tuna mayo and cheese and onion tubs all mixed together, but honestly, the entire work force used to go mad for the "xxx special" when it was on.
I make it for myself quite often now I no longer work there.

HostaFireAndIce Wed 05-Oct-16 19:07:20

YABU. That is sick and wrong.

user1472419718 Wed 05-Oct-16 19:51:14

Mayo with cheese is alway wrong.

But egg mayo with onion and paprika JaceLancs that sounds amazing.

At the moment I'm rather partial to swapping avocado in for mayo e.g. egg avocado, tuna avocado.

McWeedie Wed 05-Oct-16 20:38:35

Egg mayo, grated cheese on rye yummy.

AlpacaPicnic Wed 05-Oct-16 22:00:49

My favourite topping in Spudulike was always egg mayo and grated cheese. Then I would smush it around so the cheese melted on the potato and every bite was warm potato, melty cheese, cold creamy egg. Mmm.
Then Spudulike went and got all fancy and ruined it.

<irrelevant>

Anyway, your sandwich your rulez Hun!
The butty nicker has no right of complaint <gavel>

dalmatianmad Wed 05-Oct-16 22:05:22

Yanbu! Cheese and egg sandwiches are lush!
