To be cross with the parents who park over our drive

We live opposite a private Catholic co-ed school. It seems like an ok school from what i have read. There is a main entrance on a main road, but there's a back entrance opposite our house. Every morning between 7.30 and 8.45 there is a continuous series of cars that stop over our drive to let their kids out, blocking the path, and almost continuous traffic up our road.. Then there are others who at 3pm park over our driveway for 10 or 15 minutes while they go in and do whatever and we can't get into our drive. I emailed the school about this last year and got a very nice reply that they would ask parents to be more considerate, but nothing has changed. I walk my kids to school each morning. I know everyone can't, but am pissed off with the traffic in my residential road because of this school, It's a small street. I don't want my 4yo to be smacked in the head by a Range Rover door opening, like he was this morning. Yes, I know I will get biscuits for this, but FFS it pisses me off.

I think you need to keep on at the school. Tell them about the door nearly hitting your child in the head. You need to make more of a nuisance of yourself like they are being a nuisance to you. Complain to the council and tell the school you have done so. Our school reported a parking complaint in the school newsletter and then the next day there were parking enforcement officers ticketing people, who i assume the school had asked to be there.

YANBU. That would really wind me up. I'd try contacting the school again. Maybe get hold of some traffic cones?!

I live on a school road i feel your pain. Cant the school do more? Is it only you?
Our school has those flap board(?) things that say parking here can endanger a childs life
Find a traffic cone and stick it in your driveway
Get stickers (from ebay i think?) my neighbour did this they say do not park here & are very difficult to get off windows...
Park your car down road then block them in when they park

The best way to stop people parking across your drive is to park across your own drive, but that only works if you are in at that time rather than out and wanting to get back into your drive

I know someone who parks across their own drive at school drop off and pick up times because they got so fed up of being blocked. Could you try this? YANBU btw, it would piss me off so much, but some people think this is part and parcel of having a house near a school.

This used to happen to me only the annoying over entitled parents actually used to park on my drive!

It's really annoying.
