To be so fed up with diets?

Only been on it two weeks and already I'm fed up with it. It's so depressing.
I'm doing Sw but have no enthusiasm for it. Feel so fed up. I know I've got to keep going but meh. Someone give me a pep talk quick before I eat something bad.

Well people will be on soon to say don't diet just change your eating habits for life. IMO unless I am able to eat whatever I want and as much as I like I am on a diet Grin.

Just keep focusing on your end goal. Find something else to do bath, read a book etc. Find SW versions of the foods you would eat normally. Really try hard to eat lots of the speed foods too.

It will be worth it :)

I wish it was as easy to lose as it is to gain!

I used to be hungry all the time! But over last 4 weeks it has got better.
I'm hungry now and I was soooo tempted to eat cereal but I'm reassuring myself my thinking about what I'm going to eat tomorrow first thing.

What SW food like? Keep it up.

But I know I need to try hard this time...lost just under two stone last year but lost my spirit and have now put all that back on

Dee03 do you lose the weight by changing your food drastically?

I'm doing mfp. Basic principle is that you eat food, but not too much. You work out for yourself how you best achieve that, with no value loading (eg "syns"). For me, it's cut down on added sugar, on top of sensible portions. Others might go low fat. I have 2 meals any maybe a snak or two a day, others have 5 or 6 small meals a day, every day.

Put down the easy eating crap mummy you so don't want to really eat that.
Sw can be great but the trick is follow the plan to the letter.

If you find it horrible as pp mfp is a great alternative, but key to all of them is sticking to them. You can do this, nothing beats the pleasure of knowing your health risks are reducing and you feel good in your own body.

I'm doing SW and I'm currently in 'the zone', easy to say this but stick with it, as soon as you see results you will get your mojo, took me about 6 months to get mine, now I've lost more in the last few weeks than I did in the first 6 months.

Unless you are really committed then it's hard to do. With SW it's a lot about being organised and motivated to cook from scratch.

I have a few go to ready meals I can grab and Syn for lunch when I've got a bit lazy. Just check the Syns of what you like against the app and keep them as notes in your phone. For me it's pot noodles, they are about 7 syns so when I'm feeling coldy at work and need some comfort but haven't planned I pop to the shop and get one.

There's a slimming world thread on here that may help

Exercise for most people is only a tiny proportion. Even completely wheelchair bound your body needs so much to get by and a deficit will create a loss. You can do this.

Only good thing is dh has put all crap in top cupboards, so can't get them even if I wanted too. It's harder as I can't cook for myself so have to have what I'm given. Dh is trying his best.

I need to get in the zone. I don't go to classes, just doing it at home from old books pre car accident.

Do you understand why you are overweight though? i.e. the reasons behind why you eat the way you do? I think that is really key ...

Yes it's sudden change of amount of movement, hospital food, meds that cause rapid weight gain, being bored at home, needing something nice when days are filled with pain. I know what caused it.

Pre car accident I did Zumba three times a week most weeks. Was on my way to Zumba the day it happened. Was always on the go. Big change.

I'm cheering you on.

I'm only aiming for half a pound a week. So made small sustainable changes to diet. Really nervous about weighing myself tomorrow.

Without walking or exercise it's much harder. Can you ask him to cut you up veg eg carrots /cucumbers/peppers so if you want to munch you can without too many calories?
