YADNU for asking; I spent some time this morning wondering AIBU to ask when folks tend to do this. I have a bizarre rule that it must remain off until October half term but no idea where this arbitrary demarcation came from.

I am thinking the same! When I put away summer uniform! Thick socks and hoodie on! Deffo no heating on yet...

As soon as my house thermostat hits 17 I fire up the boiler..
15 is baltic! I'm currently in a 20 degree house and I've never got this far into September without having to use the heating.
fire away!

Too early. Vest, top and jumper. You'll soon be too hot and peeling something off am menopausal Grin.

The thermostat is set at 18 degrees chez Jelli. I dont need permission to turn it on either.

I already have the thick sox and fleece on. My house was at 15 degrees yesterday according to the thermostat and I was frozen, so I put it on.

Noooooo. YABU :D

I am here in short sleeves and full back of the house open. It's lovely and fresh.

Dc3 has been lay on his mat naked near the doors (he's only 4 months, not 23 years or something) :)

Big softies I'm in a t shirt and the windows are open, mind you it might just be my age!!

Each to their own :)

My own rule is, i'll put a jumper and comfy socks on first. If I'm still feeling cold after that, i'll get a blanket. If I'm still cold, it's time to put on the heating.

I don't like giving British Gas more money than I need to!

I've been debating it today. Although the radiators will most definitely need bleeding, so even if I turn it on, I doubt it will be very effective Hmm and at 35 weeks pregnant with a 17 month old in tow, I can think of way better things to do than bleed the sodding radiators Hmm we've just put jumpers and socks on....DH can bleed the radiators when he gets home Grin

Its cold here but nothing compared to what it will be like. Heating is not going on until after the first of October!

We have the arbitrary October rule too OP! Same for tights too.

Oh dear! Well I've made tea to hold a hot cup. Toddler finally asleep. Blanket & thick socks. 15 outside

It's still early! I'm in a t-shirt and under a blanket with a kitten instead :)

I put mine on last night as I cycled home in the pouring rain and was drenched. YANBU.

It's 13 degrees here and the heating is on. The Lecky blanket was on last night too Blush

It's far too early! I'm in a t-shirt. If I get cold then I'll put on a cardigan and thick socks. If I'm buzzing about I stay warm. If I'm sat down we've got a stack of blankets. I might reconsider by Halloween.

We're a really hot family though. I don't even wear a coat outside until the temperature is in single digits.

I love the cold! I'm so happy when it's freezing and no heater on for us yet although DH is complaining.

It could be a being born in December thing...

Hermione I tried to get one of my cats to curl up with me but they would rather go outside lol

DiJiBiDi possibly. My partner was born in January and loves the cold. I was born in August and I love the heat! :D

I'll just grab my cat to keep me warm.
I'm sure that given time, she will eventually become a lap cat.😂😂😂

Ours went on last night. The thermostat was showing 20° but it felt chilly after 8pm and DD has a cold so I put it on 22°.
Only for half an hour, then we were roasting.
I don't want to wear winter jumpers yet, I want the air to feel warm, no amount of extra layers can do that.

We've started occasionally putting the radiator on here. While still needing to turn the fan on occasionally at night. Makes no sense!
