AIBU?

To only share my bed with DH

So for various reasons I am in a hotel room on my own as it is a family occasion and DH couldnt come as needed to stay at home with DS.

My cousin who I love dearly wanted to share for one night. I said sure as long as I can swap to a twin or get an extra bed added. Thankfully we've managed to get an extra bed so it will be fine. But she seemed to act like it was kind of weird that I would not sleep in the same bed then her sister made a remark about it as well.

AIBU ? To be honest I don't even enjoy sharing that much with DH we are both light sleepers and wake each other up going to the loo, plus I toss and turn a lot.

I fucking hate sharing beds with anyone but DH. At a push, DD! Even sharing rooms actually. I'll add my mum for sharing rooms but no one else!

Canadians all seem to want share rooms.

I am British, I would share a bed. I think it is a bit weird not to tbh.

I think it's odd not to share. If it were me, I'd think you thought there was something wrong with me, like I'm unclean or something.

That's assuming it's a King or Queen size bed, and you would both be wearing pajamas.

I don't like to share a bed . A room with my dh & kids that's it.

It's a king sized bed and we both have night attire.
I just wouldn't sleep well. Sometimes I wake in the night and I like to change sleeping side or if I have the bed to myself, roll over to the lovely cool bit. I hate being impolite but sleep is one of the few areas where I would'nt compromise.

Many years ago, before I got married, I shared a bed with my mum for two nights and it was weird... I'm with you op, really prefer not to share a bed with anyone other than DH and occasionally DD. I'm South African.

Well DH and DS are worse than me. Last year on sports tour they were allocated a double. DS aged 9 at the time refused to share with DH so they had to fashion duvets on the floor into a bed for him.

Yanbu at all.

I can't sleep with anyone else in the bed (even ds, only time I can do it is in a king size with separate duvets) so no I wouldn't share a bed with anyone. I'd honestly rather sleep on the floor. I'd be uncomfortable and hardly sleep but more comfortable than sharing.
People without sleep issues don't get this, but insomnia is real and there is nothing more frustrating than lying in a bed knowing you won't sleep.

I think I would have been all Confused at sharing a room, and def about sharing the bed. I guess it depends on how close you are to your cousin! But I am not so close to any of them for that. I feel I've reached an age where sleepovers are no longer a regular activity for me.

Fine to share with DH and DCs, generally Grin

Yanbu. I wouldn't unless there was no choice. I would just spend the night staring at the ceiling. I struggle to sleep in hotels normally

I've shared a bed with close female friends and would happily do it again. We're a big group and all meet up there are enough bed spaces if some of us share doubles. I wouldn't share with a male friend, and I'm not sure I'd share with a random cousin I didn't know very well.

I would hate it, and would do whatever I could not to. Apart from.the kids, love that.

I like my own bed but share with a sibling or friend when necessary. Mobil deal.

God No!!

I'm not that thrilled about sharing with DH, but definitely wouldn't want to with anyone else!!

"I am British, I would share a bed. I think it is a bit weird not to tbh."

I don't think it is weird, not at all. Some people just don't like having their space invaded. I wouldn't want to share with anyone other than OH or DD.

I just can't sleep if sharing a bed with someone I am not very close to, and I would hate to share a bathroom. I have IBS so it can make things quite awkward.

No, yanbu. I hate sharing a bed! Although I usually sleep quite nicely on my side, I can't fully relax with some next to me (with my partner, I just know he will wake me up snoring at some point so I wake myself up in anticipation). I could barely share a room with another person, my personal space has a 20ft diameter Grin.

YANBU. I really don't like sharing with anyone other than a DP or DH (don't have one right now!!)
One of the difficulties I encountered about being single again in my fifties was that some female friends would expect to share on holidays or weekends away. This was mainly to save money. Having spent a couple of virtually sleepless nights I now just say no sharing and pay up for my own room. By the way, there's nothing wrong with my friends, they're lovely!!

I won't even share a room, with anyone. Not even or one night! Yanbu.
