Cope at being up this time on a Sunday morning?

I'm a snarling, feral subhuman until I've had at least 2 cups. brew

Gingernaut Sun 25-Sep-16 08:24:35

Tea brew

I like waking up. Don't need coffee but a cup of tea is a nice little hug.

I'm just always lovely and marvellous, just comes naturally you only need my opinion on this, if you hear otherwise it's all lies

Diet coke.

I do drink coffee buy only decaf. I don't drink any caffeine at all and honestly I feel much better for it. I used to need it to function regardless of the time!

Stellabystarlight Sun 25-Sep-16 08:31:58

And you posted at 08:23. That's a long lie round here!

Nospringflower Sun 25-Sep-16 08:32:44

I hate coffee but like a cup of tea in the morning. I do feel I miss out compared to people who love coffee!

TheHubblesWindscreenWipers Sun 25-Sep-16 08:33:39

And no choice in the matter. Ds thinks 04:00 is morning.

Hate tea and coffee. I got straight in the shower when I get up, it's the only way I feel awake.

Crazycatladyloz82 Sun 25-Sep-16 08:34:55

Juice or water are fine for me. I hate coffee and only have tea on weekends as DH is addicted to it so makes me endless cups

NashvilleQueen Sun 25-Sep-16 08:35:03

I like a milky coffee but often don't get around to it until I've been up for an hour or more. Generally up at 5.30-6.30 every day but I go to bed very early. I do feel for people who struggle in the morning as having children must be a real shock to the system.

hippy1952 Sun 25-Sep-16 08:35:03

A nice cup of tea in my extra large breakfast mug which I'm sitting in bed drinking now while I'm on Mumsnet.

LuchiMangsho Sun 25-Sep-16 08:36:08

Tea. I can't stand the taste of coffee. Given the weather here I am having hot samosas and tea in bed with the family (it is what you do in India when it's overcast and rainy). I might actually have to get out of bed in the next 20 mins because the DC are causing mild havoc. Ugh.

charlybs Sun 25-Sep-16 08:36:44

I react really strongly to caffeine and it makes me feel awful - jittery and heart palpitations. I like the taste of coffee but don't often drink it - decaf sometimes. So I have water in the mornings!

BreatheDeep Sun 25-Sep-16 08:36:45

Been up since 6.15 and I'm pregnant so no caffeine for me. I admit I find it painful - but it's tea that I miss. I have my quota later in the day else I'm failing by about 2pm!

T0ddlerSlave Sun 25-Sep-16 08:37:11

Your body becomes reliant on the caffeine if you have it regularly. It just makes less 'wake up hormones' because it's anticipating the caffeine with the fake stuff.

I rarely have tea or coffee and yes I'm often tired but at least if I do have a coffee it really works.

BitchQueen90 Sun 25-Sep-16 08:37:45

Stella I've been up since 6.30. I'm only now feeling human enough to post grin

Coke in the morning would make me vomit!

MigGril Sun 25-Sep-16 08:41:35

Wow 8.30am is a 2 hour lie in, in this house youngest is always up at 6.30am. And I don't drink tea or coffee but always feel a bit more awake after a nice glass of apple juice. So guess I'm substituting caffeine for sugar.

Having said that I've drunk mocka before now and it leaves me buzzing. Don't think I could drink coffee on a regular basis. But I guess it's what your body gets used to.

hazelnutlatte Sun 25-Sep-16 08:41:47

I switched to decaf when pregnant and only have decaf coffee now - I still need it to wake me up in the morning, even though the effect is entirely psychological!

BikeRunSki Sun 25-Sep-16 08:42:17

Red Bull if I have a really early start for work.

Coffee gives me migraines, on just a sniff.,

onedogatoddlerandababy Sun 25-Sep-16 08:49:49

Tea. And usually another mug straight after smile
