AIBU to pass on the extra lego set Asda gave me in error?

So ordered birthday/Christmas things from Asda. Went to pick them up from Asda (15 miles away) & left them at my mums. Opened the boxes to check they were the right things and they've included 2 lego sets. I only paid for one.

I cba going back there, (I don't normally go there as its hassle and would have to give up some weekend time to return it so dh could mind children), but I could contact them about it and see if they want to come and pick it up.

As its Asda, (Walmart), I'm swinging towards just passing the extra set onto another child who might like it, or giving it to charity. I'd feel guilty if it was an independent shop but can't really imagine it will make much difference to them.

I'd save it for the local Salvation Army xmas kiddy collection thing. That would be enough to put my conscious at ease.

How much was it? If expensive I'd take a set back for a refund.

They won't want to come out their way to pick it up so I wouldn't worry about it. If you were there every week, I'd say take it back but when it's somewhere you rarely go, the mistake is on them.

I would contact them about it and see what they say. I was once given something in my grocery delivery I hadn't ordered (not quite the same I know), and they said it was easier for me to just keep it. Still it would feel a little dishonest of me to have just kept it without checking.

It is an expensive set - almost £60. I may end up doing a toss up between contacting them & just passing to charity.

Keeping it full stop is theft though so why would giving it away make any difference. If that arsed about it being wrong you would surely just return it.

Yeah you need to tell ASDA about the mistake. Hopefully they will let you keep it, otherwise they may send someone out to collect it

refund or keep or give to charity its still theft. Personally Id ring, tell them they are welcome to collect on x day at x time and when they dont, id regift it at some point

I'd ring and hope they let you keep it. You wouldn't shoplift to give to charity (I assume) and to my mind this isn't much worse.
