Dd (7) has read the first 3 books and has really enjoyed them. We were saving the next ones until she's a bit older as i don't think they are appropriate for her age.

She has obviously enjoyed talking about them with her friends but one of them who has seen all the films has told her loads of major things that happen.

I know it's not the end of the world but it's a shame! I don't think she'll forget about it as they are fairly major events.

Aibu tk want to use the slug eating curse on the spoiler??

YABU to expect a 7 year old not to reveal major events of a film to their friends. Does your DD even care?

No she doesn't care' she thinks it's great! I'm just a bit sad she doesn't get to find out for herself

YABU. They have been out for years, loads of children will have seen the films and read the books. Let her carry on and read them fgs. Ridiculously precious.

I didn't let my DS watch all the films at first we stopped at GoF. Children in his class had watched them all and mentioned bits. We let him watch the rest soon after and read the books when he wanted. He had them as his school reading books so we could hardly stop him anyway.
