He said he was going for a wee, on our twenty minute walk home from school. He went behind a bush next to the footpath. When I went to pull his trousers up the evidence was there to see (and smell). He proclaimed innocence to start with and then giggled uncontrollably all the way home.

I usually have poo bags with me but I'd left the dog at home and hadn't considered I'd need them for walking a five year old. So I had to leave it.

We scarpered down the path and I think we got away with it, but I am mortified.

Should I have gone back to clean it up? I considered it but then, erm, didn't. I'm now feeling a bit guilty.

How bad is this? Please tell me your children are as gross as mine!

Of course you should have gone back. That's utterly rank.

Behind a bush? Unfortunate, but it could have been worse.

Mine have been guilty of the occasional alfresco pee when potty training/caught short too far away from any sort of toilet (and I nearly always have a bottle of water on the pushchair so I swill the area a bit afterwards) but they've never shat on a footpath.

Sorry but that is disgusting.

Definitely not the poo troll. But I am thinking I need to train him to shit before he leaves the classroom.

It wasn't ON the footpath (thank god). But it was footpath adjacent.

It's not the worst thing I've encountered in the bushes at the park.

My mum let dd shit behind a tree once in the play park, she would have been about three. It's called the 'Poo Playpark' now. Don't worry op.

Well no, I haven't experienced this particular joy but honestly? He's five, if he needed to go he needed to go, presumably he didn't do it for fun.

Don't sweat it, just encourage him to go before you set off from now on!

You could buy a collapsible potty and carry that with you, they sell them in camping shops Grin

Of FFS! Get a grip people. A five year old shat in bush - not right slap bang in the middle of the path.
