Avoid the Leirvik, (white metal frame). Its lovely to look at but a nightmare to sleep on. It was fine for about a month but now the squeaks are unbelievable, it wakes me and dh up every time we move. We are currently saving up for a new one. Dh has tried taking it down and putting back together to tighten it all up which lasts about a week and then the squeaking begins again, drives us mad! I'd highly recommend their matresses though

We have 3 Malm double beds in different colours (oak, birch and white), we love them.

We had the leirvik for about 6 years and never had a problem with it - it was great!

I'd avoid the Malm, we had one and I was forever cracking my shins off the wood around the mattress. It was also a bugger to change because you have to properly lift the mattress up to get the new sheet on.

if you are tall consider the european size.
those extra 10cm really make a difference.

We have an ikea mandal which I love because of the storage and because it's essentially a platform, i.e. no surround to crack shins on etc. It only comes in Ikea sizes not UK sizes though which may be a consideration if wanting to get a mattress elsewhere

Warren Evans make nice beds. I think you could get a bed & mattress for about £500.

I have a Leirvik with a Hamarvik mattress. I had very little money at the time and they were the best I could afford (about £200 in total for the standard king size). I'm glad I didn't spend more - I love my bed!

We have the malm with headboard. I did crack my ankles on the drawers for the first week or two but been fine since. I love it and it's been brilliant for DH as its high up and he struggled with the low bed we had previously.

We have the malm bed too, it's great and I'd happily buy it again.

We have the Hemnes bedroom furniture and bed, it's done 5 years, 2 pregnancies (I was MASSIVE!) been jumped on by the kids, we all pile into it on a Sunday morning, and the obvious Wink and it's still going strong. We've also dismantled and moved it a good few times and it's in good nick.

I have a hemnes bed in dark brown/almost black colourway with an ikea mattress (sultan I think) still lovely and comfy after 8 years

We bought a Malm super king size just last week. With two single mattresses in it so we don't wake each other up with our fidgetting. We got it because it was the same bed as we had on holiday and we didn't wake each other up once whilst we were away.

Hovag matresses. Such a great sleep.

Two single mattresses sounds great. Does the join in the middle cause any problems?
