To wonder who are these people who don't iron

I don't. Mind, I work from home so don't need to look particularly smart. I grew up in a house where everything was ironed and I was expected to do it too. Bedsheets, tea towels, pants. Since living alone, I've stopped ironing anything.

Depends on the types of clothing, how you fold and whether you have a tumble dryer.

Some types of clothes (smart clothes, blouses and some T shirts) will always need ironing. But there are plenty of more casual clothes you can just bung in the dryer and fold.

Seriously though I iron maybe twice a year and avoid buying clothes that look like they crease easily. I have low standards

that the would be me! I hang my stuff on hangers to dry, and fold once it's dry and put away. I only iron say a linen dress or something similar. Just so you know I'm not errrr, crunchy, my house is always spotless and we're all very clean and look smart and tidy. If I thought not ironing made us all look a mess, then I'd do it... But there's no point that I can see, in regular ironing. I don't even know where mine is!

I don't iron, I have a very good tumble drier which has a setting for having things come out without any creases ready to hang up. It feels very hot when it comes out so must just be sheer heat that does it.

Obviously not all materials need ironing, especially if you use a tumbler etc.

But on the other hand, I think some people just don't 'see' creased clothes.

I shake out the clothes really well and then dry them over the aga. It eliminated the need for ironing most things. Only works if you have an aga though.

I think not tumble drying helps - surely you HAVE to iron if you tumble dry?

I do a job where I wear jeans and a polo shirt, I fold as soon as things dry, and I don't buy clothes that need lots of ironing.
And I don't care if my clothes are creased.

My daughter thought my mum was getting ready to go surfing when she came to stay and put the ironing board up, that's how little it sees the light of day!

I iron clothes that absolutely have to be ironed and school uniform, that's it. If you iron bedding and socks and towels then you're just making work for yourself.

i don't wear shirts or stuff like that though.

My trick is tumble drying, taking out before tumble dryer stops and hanging straight up.

my mil tumbe drys for 10 or 20 mins then hangs on line, that works too.

if i had like a chiffon blouse or something like that though then i would have to iron those.

I iron work uniforms, one pair of linen trousers I own and DH irons shirts and smart trousers when going out (he has a messy job so wears jeans and old t-shirts that there's point ironing). You just get used to stuff not being ironed/buy stuff that doesn't need it. Most stuff you hardly notice a difference!

Both dh and I are self employed. I work from home so don't need to be 'smart'. However, my clothes are creased.

We line dry or hang dry nearly everything. Kids school shirts are 'no iron', same with trousers. bed sheets are all fitted so are tight so no lumps and bumps etc.

The only time anything gets ironed (to fair dh does anything that needs it) is if we're dd to a wedding or funeral and wearing a shirt that has crumpled a bit.

It's really not a secret. We don't look like tramos.

I live in South Wales where having whole days when it doesn't rain at all and those days are days I'm not working are maybe one/two days a year.

I have a tumble drier- so I time it right. Most of our tops are jersey so a decent shake out and folded smoothly you really cannot tell. Jeans- the weight of the denim sorts out those creases. Bedding, again- a thorough shake before folding and it's mostly uncreased.

I will iron if it's a more formal event but we have maybe one of those a year?

I iron my shirts, and pillowcases. Oh, and table napkins. Nothing else. I don't enjoy it, and am glad I don't have to do more.

I fold whilst the clothes are still warm straight from the dryer. The vast majority of clothes look absolutely fine. Dh irons his shirts and I iron the odd thing.

I don't - I hang up shirts, tshirts, tops on hangars etc to dry and they're usually ok after they dry. I don't iron bedclothes, underwear, jeans. My husband irons his work shirts and one of my kids school shirts needs ironed - he does those too.
