I'm not, am I?

If you don't know what dh/ds/dd means, browse a bit and read a bit until you do.

If you don't know how to add smileys or links, explore a bit further on the site, until you do.

If you think everyone is horrible - go back to wherever you bloody came from!

grin Yanbu

Also very strong views over what MN should and shouldn't be and who should be on it. Whilst I forget some like IIRC DH, DM etc is mostly self intuitive

Gracey1231 Sun 11-Sep-16 22:54:26

I am one of those people who constantly checks the acronyms page! So sorry, I am getting better though wink this post made me laugh hahahaha

humblesims Sun 11-Sep-16 22:57:03

theres an acronyms page?! well I've never found that yet. shock

BeMorePanda Sun 11-Sep-16 22:57:14

And all the fucking whinging about the cunting swearing - please do fuck off then grin

LineyReborn Sun 11-Sep-16 22:57:36

Indeed. Read the fucking instructions before you start moaning on about not being able to understand it.

YouTheCat Sun 11-Sep-16 22:57:53

Dh, dd etc is pretty standard. It's what we used to put on a now defunct parenting forum I used to be a member of.

And the smileys and links are just under where you post at least it is on mine .

Gracey1231 Sun 11-Sep-16 23:00:00

Do people seriously moan about swearing? Pleeeease we have stressful times a good cuss is a great medication!

BeMorePanda Sun 11-Sep-16 23:00:54

YesMany of the most common acronyms aren't exclusive to mn.

Admittedly ODFOF may be. But we all learn.
No one was born here. (Ok maybe a few were born here but not many).

bibbitybobbityyhat Sun 11-Sep-16 23:02:23

On the desktop site: see that box where it says "Add your message here" and you type in your whinge? If you scroll down just for 1 second you will find a complete explanation of all the smileys, formatting and how to do links.

My fingers have got so fat today (on Ap)

Gracey1231 Sun 11-Sep-16 23:02:55

I feel that some people just love to moan

CheeseFlavouredDiscs Sun 11-Sep-16 23:02:59

Well, it is partly Mumsnets' own fault, as they made log in compulsory for all, so people like me as I'm a lazy fucker who normally don't bother posting are now more inclined to do so.

To be fair tho, the acronyms aren't particularly difficult to work out (mostly)

4yoniD Sun 11-Sep-16 23:04:05

But when I put up a post asking for people's opinions I didn't think anyone's opinion would be different to mine!!! Surely people aren't allowed to just post their thoughts? shock

bibbitybobbityyhat Sun 11-Sep-16 23:04:10

No, no one was born here and everybody was new once. Quite agree.

It's the bloody hoardes of people who've been here 5 minutes spouting off about how horrible everyone is! Fuck the fuck off.

BeMorePanda Sun 11-Sep-16 23:04:24

Yes it seems every week a newbie starts a "swearing isn't nice, please don't swear, God doesn't like it" type thread. hmm

BIWI Sun 11-Sep-16 23:04:32

YAdefnitelyNBU bibbity.

Gracey1231 Sun 11-Sep-16 23:05:00

How dare anyone have a different opinion to me, I am right 24/7, isn't that what a forum is all about? You making a post about putting your arse in a fire and EVERYONE agreeing with you? Insert sarcasm...

BeMorePanda Sun 11-Sep-16 23:07:17

If DD2 ever signs up to mn, she can pretty much claim being born here. But that is years off.

YouTheCat Sun 11-Sep-16 23:07:41

I like a good swear.

Catsize Sun 11-Sep-16 23:09:31

Be nice to newbies - they're the future oldies.

I have been around a while and still hate the DS, DD, DH, DstbXSIL bollocks. Just writing the words makes a post so much easier to read for everyone.

I do not like having to decode a post with the skills of a GCHQ spy.

Whocansay Sun 11-Sep-16 23:10:10

I don't mind people asking about the acronyms, tbh. But the people who don't like swearing can fuck off. Swearing's great. Especially when venting!

WorraLiberty Sun 11-Sep-16 23:10:46

I wonder when they last walked into a pub and told the regulars they're doing it all wrong and they're a bunch of great big meanies?

Probably never, if they were planning on getting out alive.

KittensWithWeapons Sun 11-Sep-16 23:12:08

YAabsolutelyNBU. Every few fecking days there's a post along the lines of MN is so nasty / why do you all swear so much / I've been posting on here a few days and think that you're all horrible. It's rather tiresome. No forum is obligatory. If you don't like it here, you just don't read or post, surely? Instead of telling us all how awful we are.
