NRTFT - too long!
How rude! To me that means: All your opinions are irrelevant read mine mine I tell you mine it's the only one that counts.

DollyBarton Sun 11-Sep-16 07:59:00

Actually I think sometimes people simply want to respond to the OP, not the 15 people having a fight.

LemonRedwood Sun 11-Sep-16 08:01:35

Hopefully when they do that Dolly, 3 they've at least read all the OP's posts.

It's the posters that don't rtft and so miss all the OP's updates that get to me.

LemonRedwood Sun 11-Sep-16 08:02:04

Not sure where the 3 came from!

DollyBarton Sun 11-Sep-16 08:04:18

That's a good point Lemon.

LyraMortalia Sun 11-Sep-16 09:05:30

This is a duplicate thread sorry my kindle has a mind of its own blush

MatildaTheCat Sun 11-Sep-16 09:55:00

Haha, yesterday I read an OP who said there were too many replies on her own thread for her to read them all! That did strike me as bloody rude. grin

PlumpAndPlain Sun 11-Sep-16 10:50:20

There's often a lot of pointless repetition in threads so sometimes understandable to not rtft. the best thing is to enable the option that highlights the op's posts so you can at least read the messages from them quickly.

MyVaginaIsSparticus Sun 11-Sep-16 11:01:53

If someone asks a question I really don't see why I have to read 984 posts about random shite. Sometimes you miss out because the op dripfed loads of info but mostly it doesn't matter

ShiroiKoibito Sun 11-Sep-16 11:05:55

i read all answers on my threads, and on long threads i will scroll through stopping to read OP ones

burdog Sun 11-Sep-16 11:11:22

It's aggravating when long after the OP admitted they were wrong and posted about how they're going to do something about it when some clueless wonder wades in and calls them a dick all over again.

Queenbean Sun 11-Sep-16 11:12:14

Have you cancelled the cheque though?

Arfarfanarf Sun 11-Sep-16 11:21:11

Yes, at least read the OPs posts.

A thread is a conversation. If you dont want to be part of that conversation - why post?

Puzzledconfusedandbewildered Sun 11-Sep-16 11:24:45

I read the first page and the last two pages. I've given up on my uniform thread, it's too long!

mycatwantstokillme1 Sun 11-Sep-16 11:45:10

I@m still relatively new to MN. I still don't know how to use all the emoticons below or put a line through what I've written. If a thread has 10+ pages is there an easier way to read the OP updates than just scrolling through? I don't always have loads of time to RTFT (I've worked out what that means!) I wondered if there was some magic way of just pulling out the OP's posts? It's not cos I think everyone elses views are irrelevant. But often a lot of them are so obnoxious I just ignore them!

MrsMozart Sun 11-Sep-16 14:04:03

Ah! Just figured out what 'NRTFT' means! I think:

Not Read The Full Thread

Do I get a prize? :D

Queenbean Sun 11-Sep-16 14:06:16

MrsMozart, depending upon the tone you can interpret it as "read the full thread" or "read the fucking thread" smile

WankingMonkey Sun 11-Sep-16 14:13:04

I often respond to the original question, the go back to read the thread..always have. I try not to on here now though after being told its ignorant..but I don't want to read through 20 pages of bunfights tbh :S

I do check for OPs posts though to see if they have been dripfeeding or if OP is the full story

Amelie10 Sun 11-Sep-16 14:13:09

Sometimes there's 10+ pages, I don't think it's unreasonable to not want to read through all that. The ops replies should at least be read though which is easy enough to do.

Ditsyprint40 Sun 11-Sep-16 14:14:30

I agree, but sometimes it is sooooo long I simply don't have time but really want to respond to the OP. It's a shame you can't just see the OPs posts.

Sparklingbrook Sun 11-Sep-16 14:17:21

If you CBA to RTFT just move on. If it's pages long the chances are whatever you wanted to say has already been said anyway.

Zombie threads always show the people who don't read the whole thread. Replying to the OP from 5 years ago or something.

wombattoo Sun 11-Sep-16 14:21:25

It is annoying when someone posts that they haven't read the thread and they repeat something that has been said numerous times.
Also irritating is if the OP says something like, 'I have 3 DC' then posters repeatedly asking 'How many DC do you have'. Read the bloody post.
Sorry, turned into a bit of a rant.

Arfarfanarf Sun 11-Sep-16 14:26:16

I tell you what's even worse - when someone posts to say they aren't going to read the OP! shock it's too long, no paragraphs, whatever.

well off you fuck, rude bastard. We'll sob into our keyboards at having been denied the possibility of your wisdom. hmm

Sparklingbrook Sun 11-Sep-16 14:29:24

Oh yes. Pour your heart out and then get told to use paragraphs. hmm

MyVaginaIsSparticus Sun 11-Sep-16 15:19:37

I did make more of an effort before I had to re reg during the Jeffrey incident.

It was much easier when you saw a while thread on one page to see all the pp's posts. Now I have to trawl pages and wait for them all to load. Do the older posters realise that?
