Where i live there are 7 public holidays between now and Winterfest (i know better to not put the C-word). Although one is a Sunday, so technically 6.

Between Jan-Easter blows monkeys. Especially if it is a particularly late Easter. That eats balls.

So IMHO YABU Grin

Me too OP, get really down when the season's changing to autumn as I know it's going to be cold and dark soon. I was talking to my neighbour today and he loves it when it's cold. Different people eh!

I'm really liking this 20 odd degree weather right now and never complain it's too warm Smile

but the cold is coming, and the dark... I always prefer the American term 'fall' as that really seems to be what it is... a fall into a bottomless pit

Nooo! September rocks! Love that back to school feeling, the hint of Autumn in the air, lovely boots and coats in the shops, great TV and the flock of Canada geese currently flying around here getting ready to head South.

You ADBU!

I'm a teacher and I like September. Fresh start and all that! Shiny shoes, new books, slight blissful ignorance before the onslaught of learning walks, obs, reports, scrutinies etc.

I love September! Been back at school a few weeks, my birthday month, and DD's, nights drawing in, Halloween, Guy Fawkes and then Christmas to look forwards to. Frosty mornings, leaf kicking, starry skies. Bloody love Autumn. Detest summer.

YANBU OP. While it is still warm the light has definitely changed to that of Autumn. We already have leaves falling and it's dark by 9pm. I love the long, light nights of summer and hate the long term dark if winter.

I quite like it - I was due baby number #2 yesterday - so I'm a little biased though Grin

YABU - September is a brilliant month. It isn't cold or dark yet and it is often sunny and warm.

All the best people have September birthdays

I love September. It feels like a fresh start and I am always full of motivation and optimism. New notebooks and pens and a clean house after sweeping almost the entire garden out of the kitchen. I love the warmth and colour. I love the countdown to Christmas time, with halloween and bonfire night in between.

On the other hand, I detest New Year. I always feels really down and think about all the people who never got to see this year and how they are all slipping further into the past. January and February are horrible months and then all of a sudden you see little daffodils springing up and all is well with the world again. Grin

September is lovely when it still feels like summer, like now.
I also like that It's a bit of a do as you please month - no holidays or events to speak of whereas the next few months have tons going on.

BUT in September when it's warm and sunny it's like bonus summer,

AND gardens start giving up the autumn fruit and veg for lovely things to eat,

AND cosy nights with red wine are on the horizon,

AND freakin Christmas stuff is coming up,

AND those lovely days you can only get in the colder months when the sky is blue and sunny and the air is fresh and crisp,

AND on and on and on and on and on it goes.....

I love it, just wish the weather would cool down to proper September temperatures instead of this wretched heat and humidity.

Nights drawing in, crunchy leaves, conkers, berries everywhere, low sun making everything look beautiful, first smell of log fires from chimneys, starting to plan for Hallowe'en and Christmas, one of my favourite times of the year.
