Honestly. Don't co sleep if they won't settle.

How old really is important.

Would they sleep together? My DSs had a bed and a bedroom each but when they were little I only ever found them in one or the other. I gave in and they shared a bed for years and then a bedroom for years longer until the younger one at about 11 decided he wanted a space of his own. The older one would still quite happily share a room at nearly 14 and if we're going on holiday they will still share a bed. Dependent on age, it might work for you. Mine did it from as soon as the little one had the side taken off his cot.

That's a good idea, Homebird. Me and two sisters shared beds at 4, 3 and 2, with no sleeping issues. Worth trying anyway.
