"Does this exist? I am looking for a cleaner that works per job and not per hour. So, until I am 100% satisfied I can ask her to re clean a room say even 10 times (or more). Same for Windows etc. Or do they all work per hour only? Please let me know. Thanks."

Would someone really ask their cleaner to keep re cleaning a room until they were happy?! Sounds a bit like they actually want a servant, not a cleaner.

Has she had her arse handed to her?

I bet she's a twenty-something from India with no idea how maid services work - either in the UK or India lol.

Loads of responses ranging from "this is a great idea" to "I don't think anyone would want to work for you". I am just shocked that anyone would think this was an acceptable way to treat someone. Thankfully the consensus seems to be that it's a terrible suggestion but some sympathy for it

Seriously hope people put her in her place. She wants a slave. Urgh...

Send her a link to the cleaning product section in Tesco.

Sounds like she'd be better off just doing it herself.

A Saudi woman once said she'd pay me as a nanny on a 'performance only' basis. But if I did a marvellous job 'I'd enjoy a good wage'.

Please tell us what the responses are!!

Surely it's easier to do something yourself rather than tell someone else to do it 10 times.
Though there are some fellows who would happily pay to be told off this way.

SomeOne has posted "I'd love to see the replies if you posted this on mumsnet :-)" and reply is "Why? I don't want to hide behind a username. I want to pay per job, whatever it is, the same as I get paid for a job (I actually am my worst critic)."

Sounds like she'd never be satisfied, wants her house cleaned and then have a reason not to pay

YoMommasMommas we're on the same page :-)

As I said on the thread I'd love to see the replies if you post this on MN, I think I'll be to blame for this appearing on here and will probably be kicked off the group (I can live with that I guess!)

Just couldn't believe it wasn't a joke, TBH

Seriously, it wasn't a joke.
And it's true some replies were sympathetic.
Obviously mine weren't!

What on earth have people managed to say that is remotely sympathetic?! Shock

In a sense a cleaner is paid per job. During the hour you pay them, you specify what you want them to do and if they don't do it properly, presumably you look for another cleaner!
She's still batshit though.

not hoovering a sofa
not cleaning a cobweb

I kid you not.

I'm off out now. Will look forward to coming home later, this could be the most entertaining Sunday night I've had in a while!

And MN has restored my faith in human nature. After yesterdays NHS/obesity bashing thread I was worried people on here might have sympathy re her cleaning dilemma!
