To enjoy being in hospital?

I fell slipped and fell over on the worlds smallest hill on Friday and managed to dislocate my foot as well as breaking my ankle in 3 places
Thing is I'm actually enjoying being in hospital even though I thought it was going to be awful. The food isn't bad, I can't walk so someone brings me loads of cups of tea, changed my bed, plumps my pillows and generally feels sorry for me. yesterday I spent all day in bed eating Jaffa cakes watching day time to and slightly off my face on morphine
I know it's not exactly where I would choose for a mini break but compared to home life its a doddle
Of course I miss my DS and DH but god it's lovely having everyone run round after me.

I sometimes fantasise about having a minor car accident requiring a few days in hospital Blush

Do you have a private room?

Otherwise, how are you managing to sleep at night?

Make the most of it and get well soon (but not too soon Wink ) Flowers

I was due to have a laproscopy a while ago. I was really looking forward to a night in hospital.

I do love hospital food though and dd1 wasn't sleeping so it was going to be a nice sleep (I was going to have a private room and everything)

I feel just the same whenever I have a baby. I take the full three days in and I bloody love it.

(Also because I'm thanking my lucky stars that I'm not actually ill at the time)

I fantasise about being in hospital with a minor injury or illness too.

Oh God I thought I was mental with the hospital stay fantasising Grin

I was in for 3 weeks a few years ago with a very serious infection. I nearly died. I was still really miffed for quite some time after I was discharged, I didn't want to go home!

It's the morphine Smile I was stuck in hospital before DS was born and hated it, once he arrived and I had morphine I didn't want to leave. It's rather moreish....

How lovely to hear a positive story about hospitals.
Hope your ankle gets better soon as soon as you want it too

DH has been in hospital a few times over the last couple of years - am jealous. I went for surgery and got a bit pathetic wanting to come home rather than stay in. Should have stayed.

Hope you feel better soon but don't tell them, so you get to stay longer Flowers

Haha! Yanbu! I enjoyed my three days after elcs with dc2. Manage to sleep fine, too.

YANBU. I had a private room after having DS2 and stayed for 3 days. Discouraged visitors too (other than DH and DS1). It was bliss. Fresh sheets every day, a table for eating breakfast in bed, endless cups of tea and the food was pretty decent. I watched loads of the Olympics and left nice and rested. Mind you I'm not in UK. I'd feel a bit guilty if it was on the NHS.

I'm not in private room on a ward with 4 other elderly ladies, the woman next to me was having a very smelly poo whilst I was watching Homes under the Hammer. I did struggle to sleep on the first night but got prescribed sleeping tablets so I've had the best nights sleep ever.
AND HERES THE BEST BIT because the ward is full of old ladies I'm called a youngster

Yep, I also think about having to stay in hospital for a couple of nights with a minor accident. I've always thought the hospital food was nice enough tbh!

Haha I'm the same!

I was in, in Febuary, in a private room, though and I liked having everything done for me.

The food was good and even with twice daily bloods and Endoscopy/scans, it was a break and rest.

I've been in a few times, on a ward and in a private room and I enjoyed the ward, better.

I've only ever been in for bad reasons and not enjoyed it. Would love to go in for minor injury and just be looked after!
