Where is the NorthWest?

Following on from the interesting & informative London thread.

For me the NW is Liverpool & surrounding areas. However I'm sure others will say the NW is much further north or south....

I'm really interested to see the replies...

Ummmm...I'd say Liverpool up to Scottish border with the Pennines as the border to the NE.

Well obviously, Liverpool is the Centre of the NorthWest. Then is spreads out, down to 'Wag country' (Cheshire).

Then upto Lancashire, who we're sort of connected to and out to that other place (Manchester).

I know it includes Cumbria, but I think of them being very different. It's the stop just before Scotland on the train and even though it looks similar to Wales, it feels different.

My work area is Wales and North West and covers all of Wales, Liverpool, parts of Manchester the north West coast and up through Cumbria.

Um what now!? I live in the north, Liverpool etc is not north. North of London doesn't mean it's 'north'. Cardiff is NW here.

Liverpool is in the North West of the U.K.

Wales, is split up, into North, West and South.

The boarder of Cheshire reaches down to Stoke. Stoke is never included in the north west but also isn't included in the Midlands

Geographically it may not be North West of where an individual lives, but it is officially the NW of England.

NW of the UK would be different of course.
