AIBU?

To be fed up with the assumption the whole world likes and drinks coffee.

Why does everyone assume you like coffee, bought a ice cream sundae with chocolate sauce nowhere does it mention coffee in it but all the chocolate sauces have coffee in them apparently, ruined a perfectly good ice cream sundae. So many times I read stupid memes about coffee as if the whole world loves it, it is so not true.

I can not stand coffee (I have tried) but I still make sure I have it in the house for guests even bought a coffee maker for my husband.

Mind you the smell of freshly roasted coffee from beans...wow. Pity the taste doesnt match the smell. Tea smells to me like gone off dish washing water, looks like it and tastes like it..reaches for glass of water and awaits the tea drinkers to come on mn to defend tea.

I'm the opposite I absolutely can not stand tea! I don't like taste the smell infact nothing about it!

As a coffee lover Iv never noticed but I feel your pain if the roles were reversed I'd as they say on mn get quite stabby about the whole thing.

I'm with you on this, I'm not a coffee person at all. I ordered a banoffee dessert recently and they ruined it by putting coffee in it, wasn't mentioned on the menu at all, no no no no, banoffee is banana and toffee, they should have called it a coffee banoffee! That being said, I am partial to an espresso martini when pissed towards the end of a night out, but I guess the alcohol and sugar syrup drown out most of the coffee taste.........

I love a cup of coffee. I am a no nonsense coffee shop person who don't even read the menu as I know it's a flat white with an extra shot of espresso.

My dh dislikes coffee and would order tea.

Not everyone likes coffee.

Doesn't coffee predate tea ? Lloyds was founded in a coffee shop, not a tea room.

I love coffee.

And tea.

I bloody love coffee, it's my vice as I don't drink or smoke (OK cake is also my vice). Great AIBU though!

Personally I kind of feel the same about booze - especially all those memes that are based on the idea everyone loves and should love getting shitfaced. And all the 'aaah, a glass of vino,', 'just out with the girls for some vino!' type Facebook posts. But people just like to find common ground I think.

I'm a hopeless case because I dislike both tea and coffee. I even hate the smell.

My dh drinks neither tea nor coffee, you are not alone!

Personally I think it is a bit horrid in desserts. With desserts yes, but in them? No! It was a real 'thing' in the 80s, with cake shops bedevilled by coffee cake and also every chocolate box selection became a game of Russian roulette as you never knew, as a child, which choc would actually be a horrid coffee bomb.

London after we had eaten it, the waitress told us all the items on the special chocolate menu had coffee in them, it just was not on the menu. Yes I should have sent it back, I just ate the ice cream and left the sauce.

YANBU. I like coffee OP, but i know exactly how you feel - because i feel like this about wine. Vile stuff! I just don't get it. Wine-a-bloody-clock. Relax with a glass of wine. Wine with your meal. NO! I'd rather drink piss frankly thanks.

I don't drink tea or coffee. Cannot stand the strong smell inside coffee shops.
If I lived alone I wouldn't buy coffee just to sit in the cupboard to go soild in the jar incase I had a visitor.

I've never noticed chocolate sauces containing coffee though. Although the Blessed Ina Garten says a tiny amount of coffee is the key to enhancing chocolate flavour.

I like tea and coffee but I don't get the obsession some people have with it at my workplace. "Angela would like a coffee brought to her desk."
Would she really? Well she can jolly well get off her big fat arse and make it herself, or wait till lunch break like the rest of us.

I love coffee but I don't like coffee flavoured chocolate so I'd have been annoyed that it was in the icecream too!

Can't drink coffee. Gives me migraine (fortunately I also dislike the taste too). YANBU. When I went to Italy once the hotel we were staying in only had two teapots. They were ours for the extent of our holiday!

I like coffee flavoured things (aside from actual coffee). But I always grimace when someone on GBBO does some dreary old tea flavoured cake. Do not flavour cake with tea! You may as well wee all over it.

I don't dislike coffee but I can count on one hand how many cups I drink per year. When I do, it's usually a festive inspired one or a cappaccino in a cafe as a rare treat. I definitely don't like it enough to drink it everyday.

I've always been a tea drinker. Pre pregnancy I'd drink gallons of the stuff per day, then went off it completely in the first trimester (along with every other food/drink to grace the Earth!) but am slowly enjoying it again at 15 weeks.

My DP can't stand either.
