I'm quite a chatty person in general but sometimes when I get anxious or worried about someone and they want to talk or ask me a question I become literally unable to speak. I'll open my mouth but its like I Dont know what to say, or I do but I'm unable to actually say it iyswim. I have to write it down because its easier. I Dont understand why this happens. Does anyone else get like this?

Me! Usually happens when I come across a strong, confident person. For example today at work, I was talking to one of our lovely nurses and realised how much more intelligent and confident she was than me and all of a sudden I got tongue tied and couldn't speak properly or get my words out right! Urgh, I must have come across as a right idiot! I think I just get intimidated and secretly believe that they are better than me Sad

goodvibes I'm sure nobody thinks you are an idiot. Try to focus on your positive points, so you may not be as outwardly confident or intelligent in aspects of medicine like her, if that was the context of your conversation with her, but I bet there are other topics that you know more about than her!

Mine is most frequent with my husband so I'm hoping its not the same trigger as with you as we have a very equal partnership. I literally can't even make a sound, its like I just shut down, I want to talk but nothing comes out, i can write though. I also can't look him in the eyes which is weird as normally I'm told I make too much eye contact when I'm talking ( im a starer).
