Bloody fox sensors

Ok totally don't know if AIBU but I am absolutely fed up!!

Just as summer began a month or so ago next door (misery's as I like to call them) decided to install two fox sensors, one at the front and one in the middle. We moved into our house a couple years ago and the house came with really low fences which we've just never gotten around to changing and so now everytime we go into the garden we hear a high pitched noise which literally gives me a headache, I now dread going out there and even DD has stopped because she says her ears hurt as whenever she plays it sets it off. I've had to stop having my dog in the garden (which I kind of share with my dparents) here because he also starts pawing at his ears and doesn't want to go outside. I've looked into new fences, we just can't afford it right now so will have to save as hard as we can because we can't use our garden as it is.
AIBU to think it is just so selfish (even though I know they have every right to put them up). We don't even get bloody foxes here, never found any poo or had a bin ripped up once in the three years we've lived here.

They don't have a right to put them up. I'd complain to the neighbour, and if no joy there to the EHO as a noise nuisance. It's really not acceptable.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine Really? Do I actually have a right to object to them?? You may have literally just made my year!!

I don't actually know for sure but they are making a noise, audible on your property that is distressing your pets and your family. I'm sure if it was "just" loud much you'd have a case, and I can't see why this sort of noise is any different. They may be quite directional - it may be worth seeing if your neighbour can locate them pointed away from your property?

Are they much older than you? It could be that they can't actually hear it so haven't realised it could be a problem.

ItsAllGoingToBeFine it's very difficult because I'm normally a very confident and friendly person but I have had so many disagreements with them that I just don't feel comfortable speaking to them; they are horrible people and I just cannot get along with them and I will be met with screaming and shouting if I knock.

TranquilityofSolitude that's actually a good point, they are a very elderly couple. I need to do something because it's driving me insane, it's one of the most horrendous noises I have ever heard.

They probably can't hear it. High-pitched sounds are the first to go as you get older. One of my friends has a rodent deterrent in his house and he can't hear it - he claims only visitors under 40 ever mention it! I am staying with my mum at the moment and she has a new fridge which is driving me mad but when I mentioned it she can't hear it at all.

I feel sorry for your dog though - it's probably unbearable for him :(

I'd speak to them.. they may have to adjust the sensors on them. If not I'd complain because it is a noise nuisance
