Another Parking Thread..
http://www.mumsnet.com/Talk/amiibeingunreasonable/2577631-another-parking-thread

(See above post for background info)

Annoying neighbours have continued this silly parking nonsense and even called my letting agent and complained that we parked on the road, agent told him to leave us alone and stop harassing everyone for parking legally on the public highway.

Neighbours have a new game of parking over the dropped kerb to my two spaces so I keep having to get them to move it.
Phoned the council and they said unless their car is blocking the entire dropped kerb they won't do anything about it aslong as the car is road worthy and taxed it's allowed to be there. Fine never had a problem with them parking there unless it's over my entrance.

Yesterday I came home and they have a new car - it looks like a bit of a banger and doesn't have number plates on front or back just one blue tacked to the windscreen. It's over the dropped kerb by about half a car, but my cars not available after a minor accident so doesn't matter.

Had a Google and its SORN so shouldn't be parked on the public highway.

I normally wouldn't bother but they are such arsehats and reported us for parking legally on the road.

So WIBU to report the car as untaxed and on the public highway to the DVLA?

Half think it's super petty but the other half of me thinks fuck it they started it.

Have you spoken to your neighbours face to face to attempt to sort the issue?

RebootYourEngine · 23/08/2016 10:03

Report it

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 23/08/2016 10:04

I'd do it in a hot minute.

I think they're the petty ones.

Harry yes. We speak about it about every other day when I ask him to pull forward so we can get out.
The issue is the space isn't really big enough for a car so anyone parking there either blocks their dropped kerb access or mine. If we have to park there we only ever block in our own drive.

When I spoke to him he said if he blocks his own drive he can't get his work van in and out and he has to a few times a day for work, so deems it's okay to block me in.

I'd report it and not feel bad. You've tried to be nice. Sod it.

I'd report it. If it's a cheap old banger I'd be suspicious he's petty enough to have bought it just to park it there to piss you off.

I've just finished reading the original thread.
OP report them, do it for pregnant you! !

Definitely report this one. If they're parking so that you're completely blocked in, it's a traffic offence and you could call the police.

Report it. He is trying to dominate you so he can win. Reporting him will show him you won't be a push over

Report
shockthemonkey · 23/08/2016 10:25

They may deny the banger's anything to do with them, and leave it there to torment you. Report it and get it towed. Protest innocence if it turns out to be his and he storms around looking for trouble.

Report
shockthemonkey · 23/08/2016 10:26

by innocence I meant claim you had no idea it was his banger

Report
jerryfudd · 23/08/2016 10:28

I would be reporting so fast I wouldn't even have time to post about it on here (until I was sat curtain twitching waiting for them to get ticketed/towed)

Report

Would report it in a flash

LyndaNotLinda · 23/08/2016 10:36

Urgh - what kind of creep bullies a heavily pregnant woman? And the space outside your house does not belong to him. Definitely report it. Don't give it a second thought

Report
MeDownSouth · 23/08/2016 10:36

It's a shame you know it's his or you could've reported it as an abandoned vehicle. I'd report it (can you do it anonymously?) and feign innocent when it kicks off :)

Report
MerylPeril · 23/08/2016 10:39

Report it and if he accuses you say 'I saw a policeman looking at it yesterday/earlier'.

Report
SirChenjin · 23/08/2016 10:40

Definitely report - and I'd enjoy every single minute of it.

They got another car. Have they 4 cars, a big van and a motorcycle now? Shock How many are living there? Could they be breaking some law about number of occupants (if rented) or maybe the "residents association" the one they never knew existed until they started being twats could have some strict rules about being considerate and making the street look nice, hence needing them to move their collection of junk? Wink reporting their car is too obvious

Report it, without hesitation - if he gets prosecuted or has it towed, it will be no more than he deserves - Karma (Pun-intended)
