Employers letter for proof of income

Has anyone had to provide one of these instead of payslips? I can't find my last 3 months payslips and I'm applying for income support (I only work 14 hours a week).
What did they have to include and how was the letter formatted?
Also, I have normally done overtime every month as ds's dad could have him but not he's split up he can't/won't. This means my pay has been higher than my contracted hours. Will this affect things? I'll no longer go over the 14 hours due to circumstances. I'm terrified of being accused of fraud or anything like that!
Thanks!

Won't it be easier to ask for copies of your payslips?

They outsource it so may not be able to get them

Well the employer's letter should include the same information - standard pay, any extras including overtime and any deductions. If you're worried about the hours worked then ask the employer to confirm that you are on a standard 14 hours a week contract.

I got a letter from my employer stating that I am employed with them, how long I have been employed and how much I make. I needed it when getting a new tenancy a few years ago, not applying for any benefits/income support though. They are standard.

I'm on mat leave so needed an employers letter to confirm my return date and salary. It literally said that and was on headed paper.

I just had to have one as my payslips were handwritten so couldn't be accepted!

Basically just saying when you started, how many hours you do, how much you receive per hour, that it is a long term position and that your hours and wage are going to be the same every week

Oh and yes as fluffnuts said...on headed paper. That's all mine included and it was accepted no problem
