Refusing to let my mum see my DS's?

There is a big backstory but at its simplest form my mum does not like my Ex and this seems to have extended to my DS1(3). My mum just is not really interested in him in the way she is the other grandkids and this has become more apparent since I gave birth to DS2 (a few months ago). Prior to this DS rarely saw her and when he did she was a lot more distant with him than she is her other grandkids.

She dotes on DS2 and has been a lot keener on visiting but I have only invited her when DS1 is at his dads or made sure they are not left alone together as she has been know to make snide comments about his dad in the past. Something happened today that meant she was in a room with him, alone, for 10 minuets max.

In this time she told him his dad does not love him and that's why he did not see him for 7 weeks (he was in hospital) and also why he did not pick him up tonight.

I am fuming. DS is devastated. I have told her I don't want her around either of my children as it is not fair on DS1.

My sister has just called me and said I am being a bitch.

AIBU?

Yanbu, she's awful and so wrong to have done that. Your poor ds, how could she do that to her dgs! I wouldn't let her around both of them.

Your sister is wrong. Your mum is the bitch.

Who the hell tells a child that one of their parents doesn't love them? That's the lowest of the low

That is truly despicable thing to do to any child let alone a three year old.

I do question you letting her get close to your second child. Knowing she does not not treat your first child equally you should have said both the same or nothing. Allowing her to dote on one whilst taunting the other was never going to end well.

YANBU..that is truly shocking of your mum. What a vile hurtful thing to say to ANY child.

I would not let her see either child as she clearly cannot be trusted

YANBU
How do you know what was said?

That was a disgusting thing to say to your son. I don't think she should see either child unless she can treat them the same.

And your sister is also a bitch. She should have simply spoken to you to get your side of events before laying into you. Makes me wonder if your sister was told a different story.

Your sister was way out of order. Does she even know what actually happened? If she does, she's a fucking bitch. And as for your mother ... I'm speechless. I can't believe she said that to a 3 year old. What a rotten, vile, scumbag she is. No way should she ever be allowed your DC again.

Wow, YANBU! Did she admit what she'd said? Your poor little DS.
