Probably irrational but I want to scream.
My Husband has acquired the habit of holding his cheek towards me, insipidly, as though to demand a "peck on the cheek" when he goes out .
I just want to tell him to frig off. If he wants a bloody kiss, he can make some goddam effort.

I CANNOT believe how much this pisses me off.

I should add I am 5 ft 1 and he is 6 ft so its a tip toes procedure for me too!

what do you do when he does this?

Have you told him to stop? Do you still kiss the offered cheek?

Occasionally a weak kiss and mostly telling him to stop . So annoying.

I am going the full rejection from now. I cant believe how much it winds me up. Would this annoy others or have I finally lost it?

No this wouldn't make me angry at all. Something else must be going on surely?

Is it because it has some connotations that he views you as 'the little wife' soy ?

ElspethFlashman · 13/08/2016 11:16

Well, what do you do when his highness proffers the royal cheek?

My sister did this for a while. I honestly don't think she realised she was doing it. She soon bloody realised though when eventually I told her off in no uncertain terms.

There are few things more aggravating than being presented with someone's cheek as they literally look over your shoulder. They may as well offer their hand for you to bow over!

So we had WORDS and now she makes an effort. But she still slides back every now and again and I stop dead in my tracks and point it out.

Why doesn't he just lean down and give you a kiss on the lips?

It feels "entitled", as if you owe him something.

Lick it. A proper wet slobbery lick, like a puppy. He'll soon stop.

You are not irrational - this would wind me up too!

You could try holding a piece of wet fish behind your back and slap him with it next time.

acasualobserver · 13/08/2016 11:29

Start giving him a few slobbery licks instead. He'll soon get the message.

Beat me to it Cashel!

Lweji · 13/08/2016 11:31

pensivepolly · 13/08/2016 11:39

I like Lweji's suggestion - a nice "there, there" kind of pat would probably get your message across

dp has a habit of saying "good girl" when he asks me something. "did you manage to get to post that letter for me?" ... yes ... "good girl". FUCK OFF!!! lol

I don't get this at all. I used to do it to my husband and it wasn't because I felt entitled or anything of the sort. Confused

Report
GiddyOnZackHunt · 13/08/2016 11:49

Give him one of those cheek squeezes like people do to babies.
