AIBU?

Fucking pushchairs

Please excuse me. I'm hot, I'm the size of a whale, and I've been building flatpack furniture for three hours. I'm hacked off.

I have a stupid fucking Maxi-cosi car seat that fits on my stupid fucking i-Candy pushchair base with the stupid fucking adaptors. I bought a Maxi-cosi carrycot/pram base stupid thing. AIBU, or massively naive, to have assumed it would fit? Because they're both Maxi-cosi? And stupid fucking Maxi-cosi seat/pram bits would all just fit on the frame with the same adaptors? It doesn't fucking fit. Why the fuck doesn't it fit? Isn't this how it works? Am I just stupid? This seemed a logical assumption.

Fucking fuck.

The maxi cosi adapters and the I candy adapters are probably different. Are you trying to use I candy adapters on a maxi cosi seat & frame? I imagine the frame end of the I candy adapter only fits I candy.

Flowers from me too.
You've lost me in all of your fucking, but building flat pack furniture when pregnant sounds shit. I'm due on December the 9th and have decided to re-do the older kids rooms for Christmas, apart from the fact that there's no chance in hell I'll be waiting til December to start, I'm going to crack on in September when they're back at school when I'm not too penguin-like to move.
Have some Chocolate too

To add insult to injury I just got my fucking baked potato out of the oven, after an hour and fucking twenty minutes at gas mark 7, and it still wasn't fucking done. Why does God hate me?!

To clarify: my Maxi-cosi carseat fit the frame fine with the appropriate adaptors. I therefore assumed a Maxi-cosi carrycot would go on just fine too with the same adaptors. It doesn't. Now I have to contact the humans at the retailer I bought it from and, you know, speak to them.

OP I think we may be kindred spirits. Just step.away from the fucking fuckers and enjoy your potato (microwave it for a few mins if you have to). It will still fucking be there tomorrow.
Fuck.

God. This is not the night to get the sling out and try to figure out how that works. I did that when heavily pregnant with DC1 and ended up throwing the goddam Baby Bjorn out of a window. My DH did his back in retrieving it from the top of our neighbour's hedge meaning I had to assemble all remaining baby stuff, so more fool me...

Does the carrycot fit on the frame without adaptors?

I'd imagine a maxi cosi pram carry cot and an icandy base aren't compatible - the adopters are just for car seats usually. You would probably need the icandy carry cot. I can't understand the reasoning though for buying a maxi cosi carry cot and an icandy base?!

YABVU not to nuke McCain's frozen baked potatoes in the microwave for four minutes!!!!! Yummiest, tastiest baked potatoes ever and knocks the fresh ones into a cocked hat!! Plus they come out all soft and fluffy with no hard bits and tough skins!!! SmileSmileSmile

Sounds like it had been a long day!

So the maxi cosi carrycot is not compatible with the icandy chassis. You need the icandy carrycot but made sure is the correct model. The car seat stuff you have is fine.

Which model do you have?

A maxi cosi carrycot won't fit on an I Candy Frame..the only reason the car seat does is because they are universal ones to fit on a variety of pushchairs with the right adapters.

You need an I candy carrycot...Human's at retailers should have told you that.

Go and get take away and cake!

Were the humans at Mothercare? They aren't humans, they have scales under those super-acrylic uniforms.

I threw my adaptors at DH when we tried to erect the buggy for mine and Ds's First Walk.

Well this was 8 years ago but I had a Quinny buggy and the adaptors I used for the car seat were the same I used for the carrycot BUT I do have vague recollection of having some sort of pregnancy fury because I couldn't get the car seat on and it turned out that it did work but it had to put on at quite a particular/specific angle for it to work (like it had to be dead vertical if I remember correctly. Might be worth a bit more fiddling, preferably give someone else a go.

Ugh. So it was naive.

I microwaved my potato and burnt it. I put on a DVD and the aspect ratio is screwed up. I'm going to bed! With hot chocolate.

Thanks for your efforts, guys.

Do not attempt to take a swing at anybody with the frame of anything.

I have not so fond memories of summer 92 and trying to build a bouncy chair

Urgh I hated working out all that crap, it's mind-boggling. When we went to register DS we couldn't get the pram chassis to unfold, resulting in having to carry him in his car seat along a pretty long road (and those car seats are so heavy and awkward to carry)! Then we didn't have the right papers when we got there (I'll blame the sleep deprivation) so we had to cart him back all unregistered and stuff. Made a trip to Mothercare on the way home to moan about it and when we got it out of the car in the car park we magically managed to get it to unfold - we just hadn't been doing it properly. Thank God we worked it out as that would have been ever so slightly embarrassing!

Shit missed the pregnant bit! My apologies op. Have some chocolate or my favourite pregnancy treat gaviscon.
