Unfortunately people are still going to vote for him in their millions. Tens of millions. I watched a new clip recently which interviewed Trump supporters to ask what he'd have to do to lose their vote.

Coming out as a Nazi would be fine with one guy - he already had a few Nazi friends.
Committing child abuse made a woman stop and think for a second, but on balance she'd still vote him in anyway.
Some just declared that there was absolutely NOTHING that would stop them voting for him.

There is a reason why the proverb of "may we live in interesting times" is not always a good thing.

Fortunately, there are also many, many well-adjusted, decent, thinking, educated Americans as well, who don't want a bar of him.

I'm not one for conspiracy theories, but there's something odd about this whole presidential vote, especially on the Trump side. I don't believe for a second that this is the 'real him' or his true intention. Have no good idea what exactly is going on, and can absolutely believe his 'hard core' supporters are real, nasty, racist arseholes who would love nothing more than see the rise of Hitler 2.0. Whatever is going on, the fact there's so many supreme right-wing facist around is more worrying than anything.

I have a lot of Americans on my FB, because of the games that I used to play and some of them (Trumps supporters) link lots of suff that 'show' that Obama supports ISIS and they believe it.

Some of the non supporters link Trump in interveiws from the 90's, in which he's making statements about how stupid/easily influenced, a large percentage of the Voters are and can be swayed by nonsensical policies and ideas, if it's dressed up in the right way.

Trump has been quoted (back in the 90's) of saying if he ever decided to run for president, he would run as a republican because they'd believe anything he'd say. He was right, it's true. Trump becoming president is even more worrying because he is rich in his own right , before anyone would attempt to pay money towards a corrupt government.

I also wondered what exactly does he need to do or say to put people off - its scary - some of his supporters just make me shudder how can you be a moron in an affluent country - its offensive with the access to education, information, knowledge....I'm hoping he is just conducting an experiment and will stop any minute and say 'only joking'

The 90s quote thing is fake. Check Snopes. I'm not Trump apologist, he is insane but if we are going to attack him then it needs to be with truth or we are as bad as his supporters and the Obama is an ISIS supporter stuff.

The key portion of this sentence is "words to that effect". The reason these stories are coming out day after day is a perfect storm of 1. The media is in full attack mode and 2. Trump's ad-hoc improvisational way of speaking.

I think it is counter productive to keep creating these hysterical headlines. When people seek out the videos of Trump speaking they realise that something has been invented which is not there and it further undermines trust in the media.

Both the "Trump calls for assassination of Hillary" and now this "Trump says Obama and Clinton set up Isis" are willful, outrageous extrapolations. Those who already hate Trump will just have their bias confirmed, and those in the middle will see the media is making mountains out of molehills and it may just push them towards Trump rather than away. It's a very silly tactic and is growing more tiresome by the day.

One day Trump may actually say something really terrible but the media have cried wolf so often it will be ignored.
