Hi

Just looking for an opinion please.
Dd has a bug that I have cold/ temp 38.3 so not huge but clearly under the weather. Headache and sore throat.

She has an eye appointment this morning at the hospital should we go or wait a month for another appointment?

If she has an eye appointment I would be worried about an eye test/lights in eyes making headache worse so unless it is something urgent I would be considering cancelling on that ground.

They check her prescription and eye inprovement 6 weekly at hospital as she has glasses and we already post pones two weeks ago.

I'm conscious of making other people sick so should probably cancel

How urgent is the appointment? If not pressing I would reschedule for next month because of the possibility of spreading the bug to people who may already be unwell and the misery of trying to get through an eye appointment with a sick child. If the appointment is urgent give them a call and see if there is a side room you could wait at.

Thank you,
It's not urgent urgent but it's important to keep going as they amend her prescription

Ring and ask the hospital. They will have a policy.

I would cancel (have had to cancel ds's last 2 eye appointment s due to illness)
a) its horrible going out to stuff when you feel rough and
b) I would worry about spreading bugs

I would cancel too - there are often high numbers of children with SN at eye appointments since they are more likely to experience eye problems and it would be unfortunate if they got dd's bug.

Sorry, I know it's frustrating!

Yes I'm going to cancel thank you. Dd also has a couple of white spots on her tonsils so may take her to the GP as she has had tonisilitis quite a lot.

It's a train and bus journey to the hospital so if she has a fever she should rest too. I don't think it would be nice for eye doctor to pass it on and get it
