Hairdresser burnt scalp banana roots

I booked a mobile hairdresser as can never make it to salon, any ways hairdresser comes asked her for a bleach and tone as I always get she says my hairs light enough to not bleach but just 'lift' I said ok ur the hairdresser any ways she lifts it doesn't work she puts on bleach on top of this lift dye she had first put on, then Rinses then tones, hairs bright yellow she then says sorry my fault should have bleached in first place she says hi lights should fix it does hi lights roots still bright yellow so I now have bright yellow roots ash blonde ends and burns and scabs all over my head. I refused to pay her but this was before I realised the burns and the scabs they are so sore especially on the back of my neck! So now have to walk round with yellow roots till scalp heals wwyd just leave it and ask another hairdresser to fix or ask her to pay other hairdresser to fix it?

I'd ask her for her suggestions on how to put this right, and if not good enough, make sure everyone you know is aware of what she's done to you. Her business will require word-of-mouth recommendations, and she's left you with burns and scalds, ffs, no matter about the bloody colour!!!!

Don't put any more chemicals on your hair !!! She sounds totally incompetent . i don't know of any professional hairdresser that would have put so many chemicals one after the other on anyone's hair .

Take a photo of the scabs and your hair and sue her .

Imissgrannyw thanks for ur reply, I would ask her but I don't think she knows how to put it right when she left I said I feel like crying she said I'll leave you some toner I don't know what to do, but she has almost 5 star ratings on Facebook (I don't actually have Facebook just googled hairdressers and her Facebook page came up) I feel really bad for her because she was so nice but I dont want to ruin her business but she's actually ruined my hair and burnt my scalp so do I tell everyone she's shit or just ask her to pay to fix it

Doin mummy thanks for your reply too! I know I shouldn't put any more chemicals on my hair but it is an embarrassment to be walking around with these roots I'm so tempted to DIY, feel like crying as shallow as it sounds and your right she shouldn't have put them on one after another if I wasn't as desperate to get a fix to the whole lemon roots issue I would have realised I suppose. Never experienced this before but would you really sue her? I'm tempted as the reason I can't sleep right now is because of the scabs and sores on my neck and scalp, is it bad to put a mobile hairdresser out of business or reasonable seeing as what she's done.

I don't think any reputable hairdresser will touch it either until your scalp heals . I certainly wouldn't .

It sounds as if she is clueless to be honest . She should have insurance ( I bet she hasn't though) so I would seek legal advice, I really would .

I used to be a hairdresser . Please don't try any DIY . I absolutely would sue her . She would have been able to see that your scalp was suffering , I'm sure it would have looked sore before she left .

I think you need to be messaging her about how much pain you're in and asking her what to do (DO NOT, necessarily, take her advice), but def ask her about it - repeatedly. But be interested to know how she reacts to those kinds of messages.

Use how she responds to you as a marker to see how you move on.

And for the next few days, wear a scarf/sun hat!

Doingmummy I don't think they would either she's definitely clueless i just saw her reviews and went for it, would I ask her if she has insurance before I seek legal advice ? She came on Friday I haven't got pics of the burns till today i took a pic of my neck but my iPads ancient and not very good quality but u can still se how red and inflamed it is

I wouldn't ask her about insurance , maybe message her and tell her she has caused you injury . To be honest there isn't anything she can do about the burns as she isn't medically trained . On that note I would go and see your GP , especially if you do go down the legal route .

Sorry this isn't a very good pic but this is with a layer of sudacrem on also gives u a jist of the redness thanks for all the replays I just feel crap suing a young hairdresser but seriously can't sleep with the pain I think I'll txt her asking what to do and explaining the burns in the morning and see what she says

This is awful, poor you!
You need to:
*Message her either on phone/email to ensure you have 'evidence' it was her who did the damage, send her photos so she can see and log her replies
*find out her home or business address
*go to doctor/ a&e to get advice - they will log damage caused

THEN go to solicitor, once you have done all that/and have hold if the info you need the solicitor will contact her and get insurance details (f she has any) for her sake hope she does or she's going to be very poor!
*do not let her near your hair again

Mam my thanks for ur advice it's a nightmare iv deleted her messages confirming appointment etc as have crap phone that only holds 30 messages at a time so hope when I message tomorrow she replys, I'll get an appointment tomorrow I think it needs treatment il show you the pic I took with lighting 2 secs after the one I just posted both had sudacrem on can see cream more in second pic but can also see colour of roots in this pic not to mention my scalp which is covered in scabs :(

That looks over processed to me . If you are normally bleach blonde then she shouldn't have used a lift (?) as it would never bring the roots up to match the ends .

You're going to have to come to peace with how it looks at the moment. No decent hairdresser will touch you until the scalp is completely healed and that means at least a couple of weeks rather than days.

You do anything DIY and you are risking ending up in hospital with serious burns. Your skin is already broken, you add further chemicals and you could end up in a real mess. It really isnt worth it.

FWIW, your hair isnt banana yellow, it just seems it to you because you are used to ash blonde. Start wearing a bandana, it will help protect your head from the sun too so prevent further damage.

Doin mummy I think she was qualified she had good reviews and one of the only mobile hairdressers in my area with a fb page and pics so went for her thanks so much for ur advice, I'll do just that, text her, docs app and solicitor, a bit gutted I hadn't took pics or went to gp sooner as was a lot worse on Friday and Saturday, going to try get some sleep as Took some painkillers x

Got to GP and get burns checked but leave the colour alone for a while - don't even put a wash in wash out on it. How she thought that putting that amount of bleach on your hair was a good idea - I wouldn't have thought she would have been qualified. My hairdressing experience is sitting in a chair once every 6-8 weeks and even I know that you shouldn't do all those treatments in one sitting.

Talk to a solicitor but be realistic about it.

Sadly it's a very bad lesson learned - Never get chemical treatments from a hairdresser (esp mobile) on the first visit. You have no idea of their skills or competency.

Get your scalp looked at though as chemical burns are serious things x

I know you don't want to 'ruin' her career with a bad review but you should put something just so that future clients are warned. You wouldn't want it to happen to others. She will have the opportunity to defend the review but I think to not put something out there when it is that extreme would be a shame for future clients.

Hope your scalp gets better soon.
