Neighbours and parcels?

I don't mind taking in an occasional package but.....

NDN never answer their door. I end up carrying their parcels back and forth 13 times before anyone appears. Even when their back door is open and Ican hear them in their kitchen.

They have stuff delivered almost daily. Which means I have to fall over their stuff in my hall every day. And try to et them to answer their bloody door.

I work night shifts half the time. The delivery people bang on my door, make the dogs bark and wake me up. This could easily end with me murdering someone.

I try to take round today's parcel. There is a helpful note on the door 'If no answer deliver packages to number 18'.

I cheeky fuckers

Do I

A. Lob their parcels over the fence into their dog shit covered garden?
B. Put a notice on my door 'no packages for number 17'
C. Kill them all?

If you are asleep/ don't wish to be disturbed then put a note up stating that. Simples

B, definitely. And an extra bit about nightshift. Also speak to the neighbours and tell them you will no longer take in parcels. You've set yourself up to do it, now you need to be very clear about not doing it in future. Cheeky fuckers, your neighbours!

I'd just leave the latest stuff on their doorstep then do B.

B

Refuse to take them in if you do get woken up

Me and my neighbours take in each other's on the rare occasion we aren't in. We are happy to do it

You aren't so therefore they should stop

Dont answer the door to the delivery people. Or, answer the door and say no, you can't accept the parcel.

Would 'D' be the obvious one?

D.) Knock at neighbour's door and explain that as you work night shifts, and the parcel deliverers keep waking you up, can they please remove the sign from their door as you won't be taking any more parcels for them Confused

mrsfuzzy · 30/07/2016 13:36

the verdict is in that's a 'b' from me.

StillSmallVoiceOfCalm · 30/07/2016 13:37

I was going to do D when I drop off the latest one. But being cheeky fuckers I doubt it'd make a difference.

Who gets stuff delivered 5 out of 7 days anyway?

Start telling the couriers you won't accept or sign for them, they'll get the idea.

Report
OurBlanche · 30/07/2016 13:39

Worra's D is the obvious thing to do.

They don't care that you are being inconvenienced, so let them know and tell them to stop, take the note down as you won't be taking in any more parcels.

And then B, to reinforce it!

I've had to do B.

Next door are (were) students and they'd come to collect the parcel I'd taken in and then another one would read the courier card that the other one hadn't bothered taking off the doormat and come and knock for the same parcel their housemate had already collected and look all pissed and confused and it was fucking night time ffs. Dumb and dumber. I just said No More.

LineyReborn · 30/07/2016 13:42

I still brought their bin in for them though. Smile

PeaceOfWildThings · 30/07/2016 13:43

Tell the delivery people to take you off their list, and that you won't take parcels for number 17 again.

Report
JayDot500 · 30/07/2016 13:43

Why do you take their parcels to them? We neighbours all take each others and the person who missed it will go over and knock for to collect them.

Report

Is it the same couriers - I would say to them - although I would put a sign up first to be honest. If they don't want to answer their door, their loss. Make them go pick them up!
I take a fair few parcels in (NDN is a to shopping addict) but I have a key to hers so I just put them straight into hers

Report
EssentialHummus · 30/07/2016 13:44

D! And refuse to sign for more.

Report
StillSmallVoiceOfCalm · 30/07/2016 13:45

I've tried waiting. It didn't work. If I didn't take them round they'd sit cluttering up my hall for days.

B, and agree that you should tell couriers you won't accept their parces. Your neighbours are cheeky knobbers, and unfortunately sound just like mine. The postman was the only one who got arsey with me when I said I wouldn't take them.

Report
WorraLiberty · 30/07/2016 13:54

Of course it will make a difference if you tell them to take the sign off and you wont be taking more parcels, due to your nightshifts Confused

Just stop taking them in and they'll get the message.

Report
RaeSkywalker · 30/07/2016 13:54

Tell your neighbours you won't be doing it any more, and put a sign on your door for the attention of couriers saying that you won't take in parcels for them.
