I don't like being called a guy in restaurants. As in, "Hey [also horrible] guys! What can I get you?"

Cuz is quite Shakespearean though.

I am actually guilty of using the "guys" one quite often

Just be glad you're not in a place where you get cuzzy-bro.

Just that I find it a cringey word to call someone. Grin

I call my cousin Cuz, which I take is acceptable Grin

I really cringe at Blud, Fam and Bruv. Years of living in SE London haven't immunised me.

I call my cousins cuz, is that cringey or normal? I have tons of them. Don't make me remember all their names.

Love the idea of a single friend being a squad

The term 'friendship group' makes me a little bit sick in my mouth.

Report
mummytofourbabys · 27/07/2016 10:21

Sorry that was a spelling mistake..
Meant to write friends haha not a single friend, his group of friends is his squad

Haha, each to their own, I just find it cringey, would much rather name people by their names instead of their relation to you, but then I only have 2 cousins so that could be why haha.

I'm not crazy about 'the girls' - 'having lunch with the girls'; 'night in with the girls'. Fine if you're talking about your darling daughters, makes me cringe if you're talking about your middle-aged friends.

I hate mate
DH meets an acquaintance in the street.
'Alright mate?'
'Yes mate, you?'
'Yes mate, great. How's the family?'
'Fine mate, yours?'
'Great mate'?
'Well, see you around mate'
'Yes see you around mate'

Argghgg.

They do it on Facebook a lot. I always think it's kind of of bragging "you lot are only friends, but she's my cousin" kind of thing.
