Can't explain it, it's too big. And floating in water. Makes me feel all.... Eugh.

You have to put the little square brackets around, 2 each end.

I should not have looked, fecking terrifying, but i do have a bit of a problem with big things that should be small (which makes me sound a bit odd)

I think it's a bit weird Confused Don't know why.

Felt the same about the Colin Firth one at Lyme Park though.

Thanks Worra
Hazey I think that's part of my problem with it, it being big when it should be small, it weirds me out. I feel the same about that big rubber duck that was on a river somewhere, not sure of the details of it.

I think it is because it is so large and because it is painted that it looks so unsettling.

Statues made of sandstone that are larger than life are somehow okay, but this looks weird.

On the other hand, isn't it the purpose of art to evoke an emotional reaction? I think it achieved that.

Jesus don't tell me there is a giant rubber duck somewhere out there. Nightmares tonight.

Hideous & creepy. If it was in the form of a natural stone sculpted to look like a swimmer, possibly not as terrifying.

God it's fucking awful. Did the artist only just finish junior school then they put them on this enormous project?

And she didn't do open water swimming- she was in a pool - should have a model of one of the open water swimmers there.

I love it.

I like giant things and support our local girl so whats not to like ?

But then again I love these Mueck creations-some are huge and others tiny -you cant tell from photos which is which until there is something alongside to give it perspective. I like that.

So it's 12 foot high? So the rest of her body is all there under the water then? It's odd.

It looks like a bit like a theater prop to me. Great under the lights on the stage, but when you see them in normal daylight they're a bit garish and amateurish looking.
