Thank you for the reminder, I am going to put the laundry on. I love darkened on clothes. grin

Shhhhh, don't tell mumsnet. I have washing out aswell, and am going to hang more out when the machine finishes. grin I do however use matching pegs <proud>

I put my washing out at 10pm last night, was dry and ready to be brought in by 8am so I was able to put the load out that washed overnight.
I put my bedding out at 5.30pm today , by 6.30pm it was dey and back on the bed!

Batteriesallgone Mon 18-Jul-16 20:22:15

shock my washing has only ever got darked on by accident when I've forgotten it blush

What happens to it overnight? I thought the lack of sun prolonged dampness and therefore damage to the fibres from being too moist (moist, great word grin). Is that right? I don't know. Possibly only relevant to natural fibres.

Mine goes out most nights smile I don't have time in the morning before work.
Mind you this evening's load is dry already!

ShatnersBassoon Mon 18-Jul-16 20:23:31

I pegged out 20 minutes ago. It's the only advantage of hot nights, doubling my drying opportunities grin

TheBiscuitStrikesBack Mon 18-Jul-16 20:25:30

Mine goes out nearly every night through the summer.

I'm sure my neighbours hate me lowering the tone on the area but I don't care.

Love love love the expression OP! grin

Euphemia Mon 18-Jul-16 20:29:35

My thinking is that if I get the washing out now, I can have a lie in tomorrow. grin

ShowOfHands Mon 18-Jul-16 20:31:42

It's going to be 17 degrees here tonight. I put out a load at 6pm and it's dry so am swapping for more. It'll be dry in a few hours.

GeorgeTheThird Mon 18-Jul-16 20:35:46

Yep, just put mine out too. Probably the only night of the year, the summer we've been having.

Topseyt Mon 18-Jul-16 20:37:50

Plenty of times I put washing out at night to be darkened on. grin

Darked on, matching pegs, whatever next? You'll be telling me you iron too

<clutches pearls>

AnneGables Mon 18-Jul-16 20:53:51

Ha I have been wondering whether to put mine out overnight but was a little afraid of it being darked on. As you're all doing it, I will too [sheep].

Farmmummy Mon 18-Jul-16 20:55:39

Haha just come in from putting mine out too (and even worse my pegs don't match!)

goodenoughmum88 Mon 18-Jul-16 20:56:40

YES! One job down for tomorrow morning! Although it will add to the pile of washing that needs putting away.....

dudsville Mon 18-Jul-16 20:56:50

Ladies, I left mine out a while back. First time ever. And I can say my clothes seem to have survived. I'm envious you've had the foresight to get yours out. Will do this tomorrow!

Herecomesthebride Mon 18-Jul-16 20:59:05

Never leave mine out! Spiders drag their willies all over it grin

Tinklypoo Mon 18-Jul-16 21:00:47

My neighbour saw me darking my washing and now does it too. New recruit. <preen>

IHateDoors Mon 18-Jul-16 21:04:04

Spiders do do that, it's well known grin

tigerdriverII Mon 18-Jul-16 21:04:17

Even better if it gets rained on: DM calls that scent "rainsweet".

Lolimax Mon 18-Jul-16 21:06:00

DH is pegging out as I type and tonight's gym kit is in a quick wash and will join it all in 14 minutes. No shame in my house!

JackieAndHyde4eva Mon 18-Jul-16 21:06:19

Ok, what is darked on? confused
