Plant - I forgot to water my colleagues plant while she was on leave.

This is a blatent not AIBU. Apologies.

I brought it home and thought it might "come back to life".

It hasn't confused

She asked as soon as she got back where it was - she's quite attached to it.

ARGH please identify it so I can replace it?!

TIA

stillstandingatthebusstop Fri 15-Jul-16 20:40:06

SoleBizzz Fri 15-Jul-16 20:40:16

Maybe it was dead when she gave it to you and wanted to pull your leg

It's so dead I haven't a clue what it is. I mean was.

SoleBizzz Fri 15-Jul-16 20:43:02

Take it a garden centre

Cutecat78 Fri 15-Jul-16 20:45:29

And ask for one the same - but not dead? confused

Flouncy Fri 15-Jul-16 20:47:14

Thats not dead. Its just in need of a holiday of its own.

Fresh topup of compost, light trim, warm sunny but not too bright windowcill, time!

I buy all the unloved 10p plants at Homebase/ B&Q and nurture them.

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar Fri 15-Jul-16 20:47:23

It's very dead! I think it might have been a nerve plant though? nerve plant

NeedMoreSleepOrSugar Fri 15-Jul-16 20:48:42

Pendu Fri 15-Jul-16 20:49:33

Cutecat78 Fri 15-Jul-16 20:52:59

I am not sure if it's a nerve plant <wishing I had a photo of it before death>

It does look similar.

greathat Fri 15-Jul-16 20:54:33

the veiny bit at the front looks like a pitcher plant

SpaceKablooie Fri 15-Jul-16 20:54:43

That's not dead, it's just thirsty.

Only kidding, it's dead really grin.

greathat Fri 15-Jul-16 20:55:09

Did it eat bugs?

LillyBugg Fri 15-Jul-16 20:57:58

Can we have the details of the elaborate lie please?

Cutecat78 Fri 15-Jul-16 20:58:30

Omg def not pitcher plant grin

Grumpysfirstwife Fri 15-Jul-16 20:58:49

Could it have been one of these? www.waitrosegarden.com/plants/_/tradescantia-green-hill/classid.2000027706/

Flouncy Fri 15-Jul-16 20:59:40

I think it looks like a nerve plant too. There are many strains. Try google images polka dot plant for a same family variety.
