the only thing I would do with Boris Johnson is push him off beachy head.
Perhaps the plan is this; give him prominent job (which, pleasingly, will involve him in lots of working out how to handle brexit which he tried to run away from, miserable pissing coward that he is) to appease brexit contingent, let him screw up (as he inevitably will), then have a excuse for kicking him into obscurity permanently?

I agree with this. I think she knows what she is doing. All the Brexiteers have left the stage; someone needs to be accountable, otherwise, when it is a screw up, she will get the blame as PM and a remainer. The minster for Brexit needs to be a Brexiter too (hopefully not Gove...)

yes.
One thing we know about Mrs May is she plays a long game. And the other is she doesn't give anything away. She knows she has to pacify the rabid Brexiteers; she has to neutralize Boris; if she wants to steer us away from total meltdown the brexiteers have to be ultimately discredited. best way to do this is give the job to someone 100%, cast-iron guaranteed to fuck it up.

Is Boris pro immigration, as I keep reading?

Wait a minute... does that mean Govey will head up the Brexit negotations group? Which will force him to work with Boris. Now that WOULD be delicious to watch.

Oh I do hope this means he has to sort out this mess he's created rather than just comment in the Torygraph.

Can you be For Sec and a columnist. I can't imagine so.

Excellent he's £250k a year poorer too.
