To feel stuck in a rut

Just started maternity leave and waiting for baby to make an appearance but the free time is making me question my future in terms of work.

I work locally in customer services, pay is ok and it's on the doorstep but I just feel I can't go much further in this job and as I'm not qualified in anything, I'm never going to further my earning potential. It's making me feel a bit down and wondering if now is my chance to look at some home learning courses - are they worth the money? Trouble is I don't even know where to begin!

Blah! Perhaps I will feel better once baby has arrived and just accept my situation. Have probably posted in the wrong place but if anyone has any advice or has been in the same position id love to hear a positive story

I'm not sure what type of person you are* but FWIW I would concentrate on maternity leave/baby raising for now (and if truth be told probably the next 5 years)..

During this time think about what you enjoy and what you are good at.. And plan toward study/work experience/whatever.. Perhaps use the time (if you have the money) to try out a few short courses..

*What sort of person you are - could you cope with doing a OU degree and a new born? I couldn't! Some people can..
