AIBU?

AIBU about images

I feel like crying. Since when has it been ok to take photos of a obese woman sitting in the back of a car with the window open and post them to Facebook with a comment saying

'a reminder do not leave animals in hot cars even if you stuff them in the back with the window open'

It's a work colleague of mine who I fairly respected. Well not now.

How and why is it such a laugh to take photos of fat people doing things?? I'm obese and I think I would feel horrific if some random bloke who had never met me took a photo and referred to me as an animal??
I guess this isn't AIBU but I feel like I should say something to him or should I step away?

Unfortunately this world is full of complete assholes. It astounds me at the kind of thing I read on Facebook every day - comments from people laughing about dead babies to people making fun of people with disabilities. Some people are the scum of the earth. If it was me I would say something but then again I'm a chopsy cow and can give as good as I get. Are you normally quite good in confrontation?

Personally I would block his posts so I don't see anything else, obviously you could also unfriend him as the other choice. Pulling him up on it? Well, I was morbidly obese and found that in the main I was absolutely invisible, and I would have been horrified to have seen such a post, but it doesn't surprise me anymore. People feel it is acceptable to fat shame (obvs I don't!), you know his position, personally I wouldn't say anything though.

Pink - no I'm rubbish... I have commented though... 'Are you seriously referring to that woman as an animal??'
I want to see what he says - a few people have "laughed at his photo" ...

I would say something. Not unkindly, just a "do you know how incredibly rude you're being?" Accompanied by a head-tilt that's the most passive aggressive thing ever, and most folk hate it.

I'd have to challenge him. He's saying that he sees you as less than Human and how can you have a good working relationship with him?

I'd screenshot it, as well, in case you need it.

I leave my job tomorrow so our good working relationship is no more.

I've screenshotted it. He was the last person I expected this kind of shit from... the last person. Just goes to show you.

Me and DD were having a chippie dinner by the sea today when I git attacked by seagulls. All I kept thinking was "please don't let me become a meme!"

What a world we live in!

There are some really awful memes on the internet (purple, it's pronounced meem).

But if you feel like crying over this OP, I wouldn't get involved in a comment war with him.

Just block him, he sounds like an utter twat.

purple - its meem

Jackie, no.

there have been no responses to comment - a few people have liked it though so his status has obviously upset a few people. If he doesn't respond I will speak to him tomorrow at work and ask him wtf he is playing at.

You know what, I would post

"its really good of you to let all your friends who struggle with weight issues (he will definitely have friends who have weight issues) know what you think of them. It makes it so much easier for the rest of us when dickheads are public about their dickish attitudes. You've done us a favour. Wish more people were as honest"
