AIBU?

AIBU to think that having paid to see Florence at BTS Hyde Park, I shouldn't have to put up with other people's children

I went to the BTS festival today and was lying on a blanket in the sun listening to some cool tunes when a family turned up and sat down a few yards away. Parents got in pints and pints of beer and settled down for some tunes whilst children ran up and down between my husband and I screaming and playing tricky. The band playing was a rapper and every other word was fxxxck. Am I being unreasonable to think that this was not a suitable
venue
for children who were very distracting for the rest of us who were there for the music.

I have just come back from Florence and while I agree that Kendrick Lamar was foul, I can't quite get my head around your afternoon being upset by ONE family. The plan was heaving with people, children, loud teenagers and some drunk/stoned people. We moved place twice during the afternoon as various bits of the park filled up and became uncomfortable to sit in - why didn't you just move elsewhere?

Like Tricky the rapper? Or is it a game?

You went to an outdoor gig full of human life and were pissed off because some kids made a bit of noise?
Stay at home and put your headphones on. Or just move your blanket.

This is the nature of that kind of event OP. The family in question were rude but they don't owe you anything. Why didn't you just move?

I'm only posting this to discover what sort of game 'tricky' is.

Didn't anyone boogie on down to these cool tunes?

It was a festival. Haven't you been to one before?
Perhaps try The Albert Hall for your cool tunes in future.

I agree to a degree with PPs but it sounds from your description that you were both lying on a blanket and the children were running between you over your blanket? If so that would piss me off too... If they were just running around near you, YABU.
