To ask for a different appointment at school?

Bit of a trivial one this as I'm not going to lose any sleep over it either way, but just wondering what others would do.

School have asked us to make appointments to meet next year's teacher at a particular time (a one hour window after school next week). I'm working that day. It's not impossible for me to work from home, and pop out for the appointment, but it's a bit of a pain. MIL will be here with DD2 all day, so it's not that easy a working environment, and my I often have IT problems when working from home and I don't get to speak in person to my team etc.

So I asked if that was the only time she could do or if it might be possible to meet at another time. Was given another appointment before school on a different day. Was told some other parents were meeting her then too. Happy days.

Now the original date everyone else was given has been moved by a week due to strikes and the teaching assistant asked if I can do the new date. I reiterated that the alternative date was still preferable as I am working on the new date too (it being the same day the following week). The teaching assistant just kept saying "well, if you can't do it, you can't do it, but it would be easier for the teacher if she could meet everyone at once" Well, that's my exact thing in reverse - I could meet on her preferred day but it's kind of inconvenient.

Is it unreasonable to stick with the alternative date I was given? It's not like this is the only time parents are expected to attend school this term. There's already class assembly and sports day. Obviously none of this is compulsory, but I want to be a supportive parent and have a job to balance too.
