What's that supposed to mean?

ThoraGruntwhistle Thu 30-Jun-16 17:34:29

What? confused

It translates to: 'I am an utter arsehole'.

SweetieDrops Thu 30-Jun-16 17:35:23

Need some more context, it doesn't make that much sense as it is.

IfTheCapFitsWearIt Thu 30-Jun-16 17:35:40

You seemed to have lost your post? What are you asking?

OiWithThePoodlesAlready Thu 30-Jun-16 17:35:42

Eh? That's a strange connection to make.

ThursdayLastWeek Thu 30-Jun-16 17:35:52

No idea.

In labour?

Swings77 Thu 30-Jun-16 17:35:53

Sorry, a woman in my baby group made that comment. Everyone giggled, but me. I didn't get it.

Like as in 'I'm supposed to be all tough but I found childbirth painful'? What a weird statement.

WorraLiberty Thu 30-Jun-16 17:36:52

Did you not ask her?

Fairuza Thu 30-Jun-16 17:37:07

Tomboys are tough, people thought she was tough, but actually she's a girly wimp and had an epidural.

Swings77 Thu 30-Jun-16 17:37:53

No! I'm very shy, I'm not keen on the group at all, I'm only going for my baby. I'd have felt like a right outsider for asking, especially as I was the only one who didn't giggle

SaucyJack Thu 30-Jun-16 17:39:00

Ah yes. Good old men. Well known for their stoic, drug-free methods of coping with childbirth pains.

Some people do love to chat shit.

ineedamoreadultieradult Thu 30-Jun-16 17:39:14

That's very odd I am a tomboy (hate that phrase) and didn't have an epidural so do I get some sort of prize. In answer to your question I have no clue what she meant.

EveOnline2016 Thu 30-Jun-16 17:39:49

I get it. She is a twat.

I'm sorry but I don't even label women as Tom boys. What a very old concept that a female who likes certain sports and clothes is a male minded person.

TheoriginalLEM Thu 30-Jun-16 17:40:53

You need to find a new baby group! are they very young?

WorraLiberty Thu 30-Jun-16 17:42:45

Stop going to the group if you don't like it.

Why do you mean by 'I'm only going for my baby'?

scurryfunge Thu 30-Jun-16 17:44:43

I'm sure there must be other groups you could go to.

Swings77 Thu 30-Jun-16 17:44:56

HV said it's good to go, I stopped going for a bit and she thought it was a bit concerning and mentioned PTSD, so I kept going again.

Yes, there probably isn't anyone over 30, I'm the oldest there! (29)

scurryfunge Thu 30-Jun-16 17:48:23

Swings, you need to find a more supportive, like minded group. Don't waste your time on idiots.

Huldra Thu 30-Jun-16 17:49:51

It sounds as if she was trying to say in a joking way that having an epidural isn't a sign of weakness.

Tom Boy is a very old fashioned phrase etc

BackforGood Thu 30-Jun-16 17:53:31

Your baby won't get anything out of the group - a group formed for new Mothers is that - for the mothers. If you aren't enjoying it, then find another.

PoundingTheStreets Thu 30-Jun-16 17:56:45

I'd have probably snorted and said something like 'if men had to give birth I'm pretty sure a pain-free method would have been devised by now.'
