It's embarrassing. I hope they know we are not all like this.

I was cringing the whole way through.
But yy to Samcross. I'm not ashamed to be British - just to share the same nationality as knobs like him.

Good point Samcro. He's a proper knobhead. What an utter disgrace he is. I hope he gets his comeuppance for being such a rude, hateful man.

No, there are dickheads in all nations, he's just one of ours. I'm not ashamed to be British, but not am I proud. I just am.

He was so awful I laughed, all nationalities have Nigels.

Fancy being American, they've got Trump.

Not ashamed to be British but did cringe - probably for reasons different to everyone else's.

We run our own business and have heavily promoted the fact that our products are 'Made in Britain' - all components are sourced in England and we assemble everything ourselves. I do now feel a little less proud of that but I'm not sure why, really. I almost feel guilty for being British at the moment - although I know that's unreasonable. Still working on that one!

If ever there was an example of a truly deeply nasty man, he is it.

Well we won't be British much longer now he's had his way and the union breaks up. Alway though of myself as British. May now have to think more English. What a vile little man.

I am feeling ashamed to be British, with Farage and the English football fans. When I am in Europe I will make it very clear I am Scottish, which makes me sad because I voted to stay in the UK.

He should actually remember we are hoping to negotiate with Europe and he has constituents who voted him in who may be suffering with the consequences of brexit. You can disagree with people with a bit of class because nothing has been decided yet. He is a national disgrace.

Proud to be English so not Welsh or Scottish so wouldn't dream of talking for them.

Proud that anyone who is an elected MEP/MP can say what they like within the law.

He's a knob though

It could have been worse, he could have stuck his tongue out and blown raspberries.

I couldn't listen to any of that without thinking of Alan Partridge's autobiography, and the way the most excruciatingly unselfaware passages ended with the parp, '... and of course, I got the last laugh.'

He is Nigel Fartridge.

No Farage fan but he was right with what he said.

What a total arse. We are coming out of the EU as per his campaign. Not something I want, but there we go. He claimed that we could forge trade agreements with EU members post exit.... Well, this isn't the way to do it.

Well the only thing I would say in Farage's defence is that he has had the benefit of spending time sitting in Brussels and listening to their twaddle, so he's better placed to have an opinion on whether they've ever done a day's work. I suspect he's actually right, sadly - I think it's a bit of a gravy train for most.

I don't like him much but sometimes, just sometimes, I think he has a point. He perhaps took an opportunity to metaphorically 'blow a raspberry' as someone up thread said.

apart from anything else, it's very unBritish to be so outrageously rude to people's faces.

Much more British to be witheringly sarcastic twenty years later or else make a face that suggests that you've got trapped wind and then tell everyone all the things you WOULD have said, had you not been bound by your own national politeness
