I voted remain, I've been feeling gloomy and uncertain. I want to feel positive about moving forward because it's done now. I want to see a brighter future for our children, but I'm just not seeing it. We've "got our country back" now, what ever that means. The majority voted leave, please can you tell me something positive about this now?

YABU. There's many threads asking this exact question. With people justifying themselves or apologising and others name calling.

I was going to post this on another thread...

I'd like to know where all the doom-gloomers on here live (suspect Capital/HC's) where they benefit from the financial success of London!

I live in a small northern town whose main industry started to decline when we joined the EU. We have no investment here, no jobs, poor education, high teen pregnancies, no teachers (school is recruiting from abroad (from non-EU country)), no dentists .

The high streets are empty. There's no investment in infrastructure nor encouragement for big business to move in. The public sector/NHS are the main employers here.

Along with most children here, my DC's will have to move away for any chance of a career which saddens me.

Sorry, how has 40 years of the EU benefitted us?

I totally agree with you, i see no future for the young people in this area with regards to earning a good sustainable wage to have and support a family, every resource has been cut, the town is poor, there is no input from nearby towns, hardly any independent shops and we see the same people in the town every day. There is no investment in business's like in the London area and very little to entertain people in the evenings. It's alright for people in London and the surrounding areas who only see immigrants as workers doing the poor jobs, whilst they work in offices and earn thousands of pounds, whilst having a sustainable lifetime job.
I see too many immigrants and ethnic people having lots of children, walking around town obviously supporting them with benefits. Whilst the young people have no job opportunitys for them. The only solution for young people in this area today is to be able to move away to obtain a better higher education with which they will then be able to work anywhere in the country or abroad to have a more prosperous family life and future.
